We are seeking Electrical Engineering Technicians to support high-impact development, validation, and production engineering activities within a fast-paced, hands-on medical device and next-generation chip environment. Technicians will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop, verify, and troubleshoot implantable devices, RF/Bluetooth communication systems, and related electronics.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge innovation for implantable technologies, external stimulator systems, and Bluetooth-enabled medical products. These roles will support projects spanning new product introduction (NPI), release product engineering (RPE), and regulatory validation.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Electrical & System Testing
Perform soldering, rework, and PCBA debugging.
Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, etc.) for circuit testing and troubleshooting.

Set up and execute system-level validation and functional testing of devices.

Required:

Caterpillar's Corporate Engineering Intern program seeks students currently enrolled in a four-year university to work alongside engineering professionals to learn and apply themselves to project work within their teams.
Interns will have assignments that provide them with experience and significant learning opportunities. What You Will Do

Horwitz is seeking motivated and professional students for our full-time Project Engineer position and Engineering Internship Program. This hands-on program provides real-world experience across various engineering disciplines, including Estimating, Preconstruction, Construction, and Design. Graduates/ Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and estimators, gaining valuable skills and insights in the field of mechanical engineering.
RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES BY DEPARTMENT:
These responsibilities generally describe the nature of the position and may not be all inclusive:
Estimating
Analyze blueprints and perform system take-offs using estimating software.
Assist in preparing project estimates in Microsoft Excel with support from estimators and pre-construction managers.
Participate in worksite walkthroughs on active construction job sites to understand estimating processes.
Preconstruction
Manage and solicit Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for project planning.
Learn to size and select key mechanical HVAC equipment.
Attend job site meetings and walkthroughs, supporting the Preconstruction Manager.
Assist in project estimating and gain insight into Horwitz's sales process, including equipment selection and procurement.
Construction
Join project managers on job site meetings and walkthroughs.
Support project management on various projects by preparing O&M manuals, performing Revit modeling, and conducting load calculations.
Provide additional support during vacation staffing to maintain project continuity.
Design
Perform BTU load calculations to assist in equipment sizing for specific projects.
Use drafting software (e.g., Revit) to create permit and installation-level drawings.
Conduct field visits with lead designers to document existing equipment and site details.
Engage in team meetings and research to ensure code compliance and design accuracy.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/ABILITES:
Strong verbal and written communication for collaborating with team members and attending meetings.
Ability to analyze blueprints, conduct load calculations, and perform detailed data entry.
A demonstrated interest in HVAC, building controls, and mechanical systems is a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Enrolled in or graduated with a relevant engineering program/degree (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field).
