Job Mission
The internship will support and ensure ASML quality requirements are met during the manufacturing phase and lead quality improvement strategies to achieve customer satisfaction.
Your Assignment
The Quality Engineer reports into the Quality Department in the San Diego Factory Operational Excellence team, and is responsible to plan and execute parts and process quality initiatives related to EUV, including root cause analysis and Corrective/Preventive action coordination, monitoring quality metrics and conducting internal quality assessments. Coordinates cross functional projects such as LEAN improvement initiative and facilitates FMEA brainstorming and ranking sessions. Creates quality reports to measure and monitor parts and process performance, including SPC metrics. Supports diagramming and evaluating existing processes and executes process improvement projects. Analyzes metrics for product and process measurement and identification of future improvement opportunities. Collects data to help identify root cause of problems and plan solutions. Creates corrective actions reports and presentations as requested.
Education
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a least two years completed or Master's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience
Experience with quality reporting and analytics.
Ability to facilitate and lead quality improvement projects with cross functional teams.
Experience in the application of Statistical Process Control, Regression analysis, Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Measuring System Analysis and Control Plans implementation.
Understanding of process flow diagraming and documentation.
Ability to use creative and innovative problem diagnosis and solving techniques that will produce performance improvements.
Ability to apply process thinking, process design and process improvement methodologies to generate significant measurable benefits (including in depth root cause analysis).
Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
Experience in executing improvement projects with LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.

Other information
This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings, visits to EUV clean room and meetings, and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $18.00 - $56.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members. The internship will provide you with unique experiences on challenging projects throughout the US while providing you the opportunity to participate in several of the activities it takes to successfully build our projects. Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting with project record keeping, preparing shop drawings, and assisting with cost control records.
2. Assisting with report preparation, safety inspections, submittal logging and processing.
3. Assisting with surveying, testing, sample collection, drawing correction and filing.
4. Assisting with time keeping and cost control, inventory control, schedule checking, subcontractor monitoring.
5. Attending bid openings, conferences, etc.; taking notes, making records, completing forms.

Minimum Job Requirements

3. Eager to learn, immensely curious, full of questions, and ready to get their hands dirty.
4. Prefer those who have interest in a construction career for a builder.

Program Details
Internship will be approximately 3-4 months (May/June -August 2026)
A minimum of 20 hours, but more hours can be available if appropriate.
The program includes a collaborative 2-week charrette in July working on a project in Berkely, Ca (travel and lodging will be covered, if needed, during the charrette)
You will be required to work in-person at one of our California offices. Please note, lodging is not covered for anytime outside of the charrette.
What You Will Experience
Produce planning, environmental, engineering, economic, and other technical work products.
Analyze data and contribute to research.
Work with diverse technical teams.
Learn about local planning, environmental, engineering issues, and requirements.
Conduct assignments in the field (i.e., visit project sites).

Key Responsibilities
Assist team with General Contract and Subcontract administration
Learn about Quality Control programs and how to coordinate actions to address problems
Control of documents including but not limited to RFI postings and contract documents
Distribute information required for construction to appropriate parties
Work with the projects PE(s), SPE(s), and APM(s) to compile contract close-out documents (O&M manuals, As-Builts, etc.)
Assist in preparation of a contract items list
Research and suggest options on construction means, methods, and equipment
Perform other duties as required or assigned

Your Assignment:
Spectral Linewidth Metrology
Cymer uses on-board Fabry-Perot etalon spectroscopy to monitor and control the output of our DUV lightsources. Monitoring etalon finesse is therefore a critical need for quality control, calibration and lifetime evaluation of this metrology. Our existing tooling to evaluate finesse is limited to measurements of the etalon as a component, but we have a need to do in situ evaluations for calibration and performance drift evaluations. The goal of the internship project is to upgrade and refine our capabilities for measuring etalon finesse.
As part of this internship you will learn about working in a corporate setting and get hands-on experience solving real world problems working alongside experienced engineers.
Interns will typically be required to document and present their findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about what they achieved during their internship.
