Primary Purpose of Position

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) and 6 years of Nuclear or related industry experience OR
Associate's degree in a technical field and 8 years of nuclear or related industry experience OR
High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 9 years of nuclear or related experience of which 6 years should be at the exempt level
Working knowledge of engineering processes and systems required for the specific functional area
Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Protective Relaying testing (electro-mechanical, solid state, and microprocessor)

As an intern, you will report to a Fehr Graham Project Manager on one or several projects. That Project Manager will ensure your internship is enriching and relevant to your coursework.
You'll help with construction observation, including measuring quantities and ensuring construction is completed to standards. There may be opportunities for exposure to surveying. About the Team
The Portfolio Engineering team within the Private Markets and Funds Alpha (“PMFA”) division serves as a liaison between PMFA and SWIB's technology teams to identify, structure, and prioritize the division's data within SWIB's broader infrastructure. Internship Overview: Our 2026 Summer Engineering Internship Program is designed to provide mission-driven students an opportunity to network and gain hands-on and real-world experience. Throughout the course of 10 weeks, you will work within the Engineering Department with seven other Engineering Interns to build upon and improve our platform through feature development, performance and workflow improvements, implementing AI and automation, and resolving critical customer bugs. You will work closely within your team and with cross functional teams to understand users' needs, receive feedback, and learn about how to build highly impactful functionality for our users.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Collaborate closely with professional engineers alongside a cohort of fellow interns.
Participate in Agile development through scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standup and sprint retrospectives.
Learn and apply technical concepts for each ticket assigned throughout the project.
Work with your team to break down project requirements into deliverable units of work and estimate task complexity.
Explore and use AI tools to within product development.
Build and improve internal applications from end-to-end that have real impact.
Research and understand the needs of the end user.
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree with a focus on computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Must be available to participate in a full-time internship between June-August.
All interns must be within a commuting distance to the Austin or Madison office location for the duration of the internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and complete pre-sale product cost estimates from customer requirements
Utilize CAD Software to modify and create drawings
Maintain the tracking system for open quote status
Enter and maintain part master data and production router information in the company ERP system
Verify previous estimates and adjust estimates per revision on internal process changes
Maintain estimating templates and standard practices
Work to lower costs and improve service levels
Assist in analyzing quote metrics and variances to contribute to the continuous improvement of quotes
Partner with the purchasing department to source new product materials from existing suppliers and assist in sourcing from new suppliers to determine optimal solution
Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to develop and cost new or highly custom products
Perform first run and work order change reviews and make corrections as well as recommendations as needed
