**Position Summary**
Under general supervision of Sr. Engineers, the intern will complete a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Research and Development group and other disciplines interacting inside the Stage Gate process.
Assignments will make a positive contribution to Oatey as well as provide the student with "hands-on" work experience.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist Mechanical engineers with the preparation of project records, documentation and paperwork.
+ Participate in product design projects including preparation of project forms and documentation, design specification and implementation.
+ Assists the senior design engineers in the provision of technical support to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and customer service.
+ Use computer aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and documentation related to specific engineering projects.
+ Create solid computer models to predict material behavior in injection molds and other machines.
+ Create bills of materials, material specifications and processes specific to a project.
+ Work with cross functional teams in the development of new products.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Knowledge and Experience**
+ CAD Software - Solid Modeling in Solidworks
+ Strong ability to understand and help modify existing mechanical designs and products.
+ Excellent analysis skills.
+ Experience working with Excel and other Microsoft applications.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Demonstrated high initiative.
+ Finite Element Analysis preferred.

The City of Keene Engineering Division is seeking motivated students, either high school seniors or individuals currently enrolled in Post Graduate Degree programs (college, trade school, etc.), who are interested in, and/or currently pursuing a degree in, Civil Engineering, Survey, GIS, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or similar related engineering fields.
As part of this position, the selected candidate will be expected to perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
* Assist the Engineering Division staff in scanning, filing and summarizing water, sewer, road, highway, utility tie card and other related record information to update and complete future projects and programs.
* Scanning, printing, data entry and filing of project documents (hard copy and electronic copy), updating and cataloguing Engineering and Public Works projects records and files.
* Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF. Data entry and proficiency in using excel is a must for the position.
* Assist the Engineering Division in developing plans for bidding, cost estimating, project setup, bid reviews, technical contract document reviews and other similar engineering-related project tasks.
* This position requires some heavy lifting of project files, plans and other record information. Interested applicants should be capable of lifting 25 lbs., though lifting is not always needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
A valid and active driver's license.
Enrollment as a high school senior with an anticipated graduation year of 2026 and/or post graduate enrollment with an existing trade school or accredited post-graduation institution.
Preference will be given to candidates pursuing degrees and courses of study in Civil Engineering, Survey, GIS, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or similarly related fields
Hours:
Working hours are flexible based on the selected individuals available schedule, provided that working hours are within the Engineering Divisions / Public Works operating hours, weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, as coordinated and mutually agreed to with the City Engineer. With an anticipated up to 16 hours per week while school is in session, and a potential for additional hours during school break(s) up to 32 hours. Working hours from week to week are also flexible and dependent on the selected candidate's available schedule.
Wages:
$15 per hour.
Employment Duration:
This internship opportunity is "up to" a 6-month period, anticipated to start during the school winter break in December 2025 and extend through the end of the school year in June.

Position Summary
Under general supervision of Sr. Engineers, the intern will complete a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Research and Development group and other disciplines interacting inside the Stage Gate process.
Assignments will make a positive contribution to Oatey as well as provide the student with “hands-on” work experience.
Responsibilities
Assist Mechanical engineers with the preparation of project records, documentation and paperwork.
Participate in product design projects including preparation of project forms and documentation, design specification and implementation.
Assists the senior design engineers in the provision of technical support to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and customer service.
Use computer aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and documentation related to specific engineering projects.
Create solid computer models to predict material behavior in injection molds and other machines.
Create bills of materials, material specifications and processes specific to a project.
Work with cross functional teams in the development of new products.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
CAD Software - Solid Modeling in Solidworks
Strong ability to understand and help modify existing mechanical designs and products.
Excellent analysis skills.
Experience working with Excel and other Microsoft applications.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated high initiative.
Finite Element Analysis preferred.
Affinity and experience with the water infrastructure industry preferred.
Education and Certification
Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program with completion of at least four (4) semesters.
