This summer internship position provides technical support to the Environmental (EV) Group, encompassing environmental services, acoustical services, and cultural resources, and related work required by other Departments within the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Environmental field operations; utilizing GPS and GIS technology and participation as an environmental team member
Compilation, review, and QA/QC environmental reports.
Statement of Interest write ups (secondary source research, and write-ups)
Perform wetland and watercourse delineations, compile wetland reports, and assist with Jurisdictional Determinations.
Utilize GPS, whenever necessary, for environmental work.
Utilize the PennDOT CE Expert System to prepare and complete CE scoping and evaluation packages including supporting NEPA documentation such as:
Compile Section 4(f)/6(f) Forms
Environmental Justice Evaluations
Agricultural Evaluations
ATON Plans
Utilize ECMS for BRPAs.
Compile waterway permits including JPs and General Permits using the KEES system or via paper copies.
Perform PNDI searches and conduct agency coordination.
Perform and/or assist in T&E studies such as Phase I bog turtle surveys or botanical surveys.
Perform Environmental Assessments including macroinvertebrate surveys.
Perform or assist with Phase I, II, and III ESAs, including DEP File Reviews, and compile reports.
Assist with monitoring well installations and perform groundwater studies.
Collect soil and water samples, as per PennDOT or current industry standards.
Utilize ArcGIS, as necessary.
Utilize CADD, whenever possible, for mapping assignments, figures, etc.
Attend client and PennDOT/PTC meetings as well as agency coordination meetings.
Assist with public involvement meetings.
Conducting SOI research and documentation.

Terminal operations include dehydration, fractionation, chilling, refrigerated storage, atmospheric storage, underground storage caverns, marine operations, and pipeline operations.
The Energy Transfer Butane Blending Engineering group is responsible for the design, construction, and integration of automated processing equipment for Butane Blending systems at fuel loading terminals. Energy Transfer's patented Butane Blending System uses state of the art technology to automatically sample gasoline and analyze its properties, and determines the optimum amount of butane that can be injected, while keeping the gasoline within regulatory limits.
