Until is a moonshot company building a “pause button” for biology. Our near-term focus is organ-scale reversible cryopreservation: preserving donated organs at subzero temperatures without ice formation, then rewarming them uniformly for transplant. By solving this grand challenge, we're laying the foundation for whole-body reversible cryopreservation, giving patients a bridge to future cures. To achieve our goal, we are assembling an interdisciplinary team to develop perfusion systems, cryoprotectant formulations, and vitrification and rewarming hardware. We are also building out our medical hibernation team to tackle the challenges of whole-body cryopreservation, beginning with rodent models. About the Role As a Machine Learning Engineer / Scientist at Until, you will be an early member of the computational team defining how experimental data becomes insight and drives the next round of scientific discovery. You'll build high-leverage ML systems that help develop new cryoprotectant formulations, engineer biologically-inspired antifreeze proteins, and understand the physics of vitrification and rewarming. You will own projects end-to-end including shaping data collection and designing data pipelines, training and evaluating models, and deploying tooling that scientists use daily. The Department of Fish and Wildlife's Northern Region is seeking a motivated individual to assist with the state's growing Gray Wolf conservation program. This position entails assisting the state wolf biologists in determining the distribution and abundance of Gray Wolves in northern California and with efforts to prevent Gray Wolf conflicts with livestock production. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience working independently and as part of a small team, driving 4-wheel drive and/or all-terrain vehicles, setting up and monitoring trail cameras, surveying for Gray Wolf tracks, scats and other sign, and deploying non-lethal deterrents measures to prevent Gray Wolf conflicts with livestock. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with ground-based surveys to document the distribution and abundance of Gray Wolves, including camera traps, hand-held telemetry, and survey for tracks, scat and other sign. The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety program by assisting with program updates, job hazard analyses, chemical inventory, 6S initiatives, environmental reporting, audits, and employee training. This position includes both administrative and hands-on field activities. The intern will interact regularly with EHS, Operations, and Human Resources personnel and is expected to conduct daily floor walks. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Support EHS policies, programs, and projects to reduce workplace hazards and ensure regulatory compliance. Assist in updating and maintaining EHS procedures, records, and training materials. Conduct and document safety audits, inspections, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs). Assist in completing the Appendix H SOLV Energy Comprehensive SWPPP Executive Summary Memo for each project and ensuring document is filed electronically and within the field SWPPP. Update Memo's as needed when project information changes. Compile meeting minutes for Internal Weekly SWPPP Meeting, Field Stormwater Technician Bi-Weekly Meeting, and Monthly Superintendent Meeting. Research various environmental permits per local, state, and federal regulations (SPCC, CGP, vegetation management, etc.). Review monthly project compliance metrics to ensure reports are reporting accurate data. Communicate and coordinate with the Data Architecture Team if there are any issues or bugs within the Environmental Compliance Dashboard or Environmental Compliance Alert Reports on Power BI. Assist with Hazardous Material Business Plan (HMBP) submittals for new California projects and submit changes to the plans throughout the duration of construction. Ensure latest copies of SWPPPs, SPCCs, and IFCs are saved in the Project Specific Environmental Compliance Documents Teams folder. Provide QA/QC oversight to NOIs, SWPPPs, IFCs, and SPCCs for each project. Assist with document management for the Monthly Audit Program, including but not limited to: Ensuring that the internal records reflect the job site SWPPP and documentation to reflect ongoing changes and alterations as construction progresses to meet individual states ‘living document' SWPPP requirements. Assists in writing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for environmental compliance processes and documentation. Compiles state-specific SPCC requirements to support SPCC development and regulatory compliance. Other tasks as needed.
