Responsibilities
To support Quality/Component engineering.
FPY Data compilation and analysis.
Inspect and review electromechanical components and products.
Inspect and review Fiber Optics components and products.
The intern will be reporting to Quality Engineering in the SCS area.
SCM Org. - Raw Material
SCM and OTS Org. - Mechanical Components
Offload some of the minor day-to-day tasks to allow current Quality engineers to focus on larger issues.
Compile and track product quality matrices.
Compile and track supplier component issues.
Streamline current processes to improve workflow.
Cost reduction in our manufacturing process

Qualifications
Understanding of basic electronics/mechanical functions and applications
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is needed.
Understanding of some basic programming skills will be desirable (Linux, Matlab, AutoCAD or C language)
Understanding of statistical data compilation using Excel is needed.
Willingness to learn and document product issues and troubleshooting.
Candidate should be in their junior or sophomore year studying in an engineering discipline: Computer engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical engineering.
Willingness to work as a team.
The intern should be able to read and understand supplier quality documentation

Your role: FMI is seeking a dependable, skilled Engineering Technician to join the Manufacturing team.
