Responsible to coordinate, prepare, and accomplish work in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) database(s).
* Provide in-house drafting and design support for the Base Civil Engineer (BCE).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Emergency Assignment: Upon activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or Joint Field Office (JFO), incumbent may be required to work in an alternate location with rotating shifts, including weekends and evenings, in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for working alongside Cornerstone employees on projects that will have a direct impact on the business. Reporting directly to the Spokane Plant Manager, this role will interface with the Production and Quality departments.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Primary projects include:
Create a Standard Work for every position in plant
Conduct time studies on every position in the plant
Create a balance Chart for every line in the plant
Additional activities may include:
Creating process flows
Process mapping
Creating layouts
Test equipment design/improvement
Non-conforming material inspection, auditing and test processes
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school. Must have completed Sophomore year coursework to be eligible.
Experience in data interpretation/manipulation via MS Excel, specifically creating Pivot Tables and Pareto Charts.
Experience with AutoCad, Inventor, or Solid works will be an advantage.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required, although a demonstrable interest in industrial processes will be evaluated during the interview process. Students with any level of experience are encouraged to apply.
Interns will work in office and shop floor environments with extended periods of sitting and standing. Must be able to communicate and engage with employees on the shop floor. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
