    Engineering internship job in Findlay, OH

    LFG Specialties LLC, an APTIM company, located in Findlay, Ohio, is growing and in need of a qualified Co-op/intern to join our team. We are a leading original equipment manufacturer of landfill gas extraction, compression, combustion (i.e. flares), and leachate remediation equipment utilized in the solid waste industry. This will be a temporary position. The STRIVE Internship Program is a 12-week experience running from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. Interns are required to be fully available during Week 1 (May 18--22) and Week 12 (August 3--7) of the program. Week 12 includes company-paid travel to an APTIM office (location to be announced) for an end-of-internship celebration. Interns are expected to minimize absences to ensure a meaningful program experience. The program observes Memorial Day (May 25, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026, observed). Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: * Responsible for coordination between the service manager and the team members (technicians, shop, project managers) including: tools drawings and parts are ready for each job. * Responsible for programing small parts sales (controllers) through working with the Sales Manager and the shipping/receiving department. * Strong communication will be needed with the service manager, service technicians through technical and administrative support for our landfill gas service department. * Organizes and coordinates projects' documentation (drawings, reports, safety paperwork, calibrations, etc.) in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. * Modification/design using AutoCAD for field work, given from service technicians, to clean up AS LEFT documentation. Design improvements/suggestion to system to be presented to the Service and Project Managers. * Work in Shop environment through the fabrication process for quality assurance checks. * Travel to site will be expected once per rotation. * Ensures effective communications. * Other duties as assigned. * Project within Service with a deliverable due before for the end of the rotation, expected report and presentation after each rotation on the project, lessons learned and growth potential. Basic Qualifications: * Successful candidate will possess willingness to learn, adapt and overcome obstacles in both electrical and mechanical areas. * Experience will include both industrial (shop) environment and engineering (office) settings. * Strong written and oral communication skills are required. * Strong candidate will be self-motivated and offer solutions to work priorities and schedules. * Exposure to PLC logic is preferred. * Candidate must have a firm grasp of engineering principles. * Exposure to AutoCAD drafting experience preferred. * Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA with at least 60 hours of coursework completed * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must have experience with MS Office software * Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills * Must be a self-starter, excel in time management, and work well under pressure About APTIM APTIM enhances the quality of the environment, wellbeing of people, resilience of communities, and opportunity for employees to make a difference, not just a living.
