POWER Engineers, Member of WSP USA, is seeking a **Full Time Transmission Engineering Intern (Transmission Lines)** **Summer 2026** to work out of our **Mount Laurel, NJ** office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.
WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience to enhance their education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections.
This internship is anticipated to take place during the Summer 2026 semester. The program is anticipated to take place from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. The individual start date is flexible.
**Your Impact**
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Learn basic principles of Overhead Transmission Line Design Engineering.
+ Work with experienced staff to assist with designing overhead transmission line and substation structures
+ Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
+ Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
+ Complete training on assigned tasks.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
+ Must be 18 or older.
+ Demonstrated interest in **transmission lines, consulting engineering, the electric utility industry,** or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
+ Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
+ Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related, Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
+ Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying.
+ Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
+ Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position

This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Project Manager. Perform and/or oversee civil/site design for a variety of projects including parks,
municipal infrastructure, athletic facilities, commercial developments.
Responsible for scope, schedule, and budget adherence to assigned tasks.
Performs routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard
techniques and procedures.
Works independently on small assignments and assists Senior Engineers on
projects.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Additional duties include participating in building inspections as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient in AutoCad Civil 3d computer aided design software
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks on
schedule and within budget
Excellent time management skills
Ability to solve problems
Municipal Land Use knowledge a plus EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a from an accredited four-
year college or university CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required
Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus

Overview:
Plan & coordinate technical activities in association with assigned projects including project budgets & timelines
Work with outside vendors & contractors to ensure deliverables of project are met
Use CAD equipment to provide support in preparing layouts & diagrams
Utilize technical knowledge to develop solutions for plant improvement opportunities
Communicate with all plant departments on project activities
Qualifications
Rising Senior in college/university, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

The KIELY Internship Program is seeking college students like you that would like to join us on our mission to leave things better than we found them. The program runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day with consideration on semester starting/ending dates.
The program is intended to help college students:
