About the Role
As a Backend Engineer Intern at Tinder, you will partner directly with senior members of the engineering team and be empowered to contribute solutions to Tinder's backend system. We are deeply invested in improving architecture design, exploring and leveraging new technologies in interesting ways to deliver an app that continues to shape how people connect globally.

* Collaborate across Tinder Engineering on the expansion of our service platform.
* Develop and operate scalable and resilient distributed services that run on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
* Build large scale distributed systems that handle billions of data events a day.
* Write unit and integration tests.

What we're looking for:
* Aspiring backend developer who's excited to work on large scale challenges with cutting-edge technology.
* Proficiency in coding with at least one language (Java, Scala, Python,Typescript, Nodejs, etc.).
* Foundational knowledge of basic Computer Science principles: data structures and algorithms.
* Curiosity and creativity in leveraging Generative AI to reimagine feature building and development workflows.
* Currently pursuing a BS/BA, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
Nice to have:
* Prior internship or work experience on backend systems.
* Completed relevant project experience (i.e. hackathons, personal projects, GitHub, Open Source, volunteer coding experience etc.).
* Knowledge of technologies such as; Protocol Buffers, gRPC, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, ElasticSearch, Redis.
* Aware of AWS technologies like; DynamoDB, S3, RDS, ElastiCache.
$47 - $47 an hour
The compensation range listed above is representative of the hourly rate offered.

Work Schedule:
We work in a hybrid and traditional environment, and you may be expected to work onsite in the office up to 5 days per week. The internship follows a 40-hour work-week, generally between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday to Friday. Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of technical, both routine and moderately complex tasks that provide familiarity with programs, staff, and operating procedures.

Anchor QEA is seeking an engineering intern for the 2025/2026 Winter. We will require interns to potentially perform fieldwork, depending on project needs. Interns will experience a combination of hands-on fieldwork and a defined project within their scope of study, as well as the opportunity for exposure to other service areas within our firm. There will be opportunities to work with senior- and principal-level professionals, assisting with project-related tasks and gaining insight into the world of professional consulting. Responsibilities:
Deliver a defined capstone project with assistance from senior engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:
Support implementation of remedial investigations/feasibility studies and design evaluations
Conduct research and analysis around prospective clients, trends, strategies, industries, activation needs, etc.
Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing
Assist with research and data entry for new business initiatives
Partner to complete field sampling activities in-water and/or on land, project field documentation and supporting preparation of figures and tables for project deliverables
Conduct field activities, including collection of sediment, soil, water, air, waste, or biota samples or other field tasks
Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training as required
Update documents, calendars, schedules, weekly statuses, etc.
