Generally, project managers in program management will pursue job responsibilities in the following areas: Project Management: Lead a cross-functional team to execute substation, transmission line, and telecommunication projects from inception through design and construction to closeout. Oversee 5-20 projects concurrently of varying sizes ($100k-$50M+) and voltages (4kV-765kV). Manage projects for schedule adherence identifying risks and requirements to successfully achieve a project's in-service date. Navigate projects through client gate approval processes including presentations to senior and executive management as required by each client. Manage projects for financial adherence maintaining an accurate cost forecast reflecting committed and uncommitted costs for an estimate-at-completion. Coordinate craft labor resources with client approved vendors for construction, testing and other field activities. Provide regular status updates on projects by maintaining project data and routine reporting as well as meeting updates for clients. Lead project meetings with cost, schedule, real estate, environmental, construction and engineering resources to facilitate project execution. Requirements: Must have a 4 year Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program and min 7 years applicable/relevant experience - engineering design, project management or a relevant role. Administer and review engineering or related work provided by outside consultants. Determine if methods, procedures, and results developed by outside consultants are analytically sound. Leads engineering review of customer technical specifications and the translation of specifications into safe, high quality, compliant equipment/systems. Consult or negotiate with customers to finalize engineering project specifications. Present engineering plans and progress status updates to project stakeholders and financiers. Review and approve proposed engineering designs and subsequent product and process enhancements or changes. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. 15+ years of related engineering experience, including 5 years of relevant leadership experience directing a team of engineers. Knowledge of medium and low voltage power distribution equipment and associated controls/data acquisition systems. Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NEC and other industry applicable standards and codes. Knowledge of DC traction power equipment preferred. Knowledge of power system analysis and associated calculations. EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of Facility and Process Engineering experience. At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience. Experience in Engineering Management. Experience managing capital projects. PHA and “Process Safety Management” experience preferred.
