Northrop Grumman Chandler Launch Vehicles business unit is looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the electrical system level design engineering, integration, and test of launch vehicles for the Sentinel program. The Electrical Engineering Manager will work with the Program Managers and the lead electrical engineers in order to coordinate and support the day to day activities of the electrical engineering team assigned to the respective program and will also act as a technical lead, technical contributor, or technical consultant on various projects. The electrical engineering manager will also focus attention on the career development needs of the team members. The team supports all aspects of electrical system level vehicle design, integration, and test using a wide range of avionics electronic assembly products.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Work with program managers and engineering leads to ensure the right people, processes, and tools are in place to meet the business needs.
Work with the electrical engineering leads to help oversee the supervision of engineering activity and work products, workload management, and performance management process
Function as a key contributor, managing assigned responsibilities and directing the projects of the leads and engineers to accomplish goals.
Spend a high percentage of available work time each week, accomplishing direct tasking on the program.
Plan manpower requirements as well as conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews of staff
Identify, manage and grow the critical skills development process for the design team
Motivates team; actively, effectively participates and contributes in a positive manner.
Train and mentor early career engineers in Electrical Engineering and test standards.
Makes an extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer service
Work with the engineering team to identify causes of problems and develop solutions.
Ensures standard processes, procedures and command media are followed; including Safety, 5S, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Control, Electrostatic Discharge Control (ESD) control, Tool Control, among others.
Evaluating and implementing Lean/agile solutions to decrease cycle times
Identify and/or lead continuous improvement activities within the department
Technical Skills
Understanding and application of the business unit electrical engineering technical standards.
Broad technical understanding and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to perform circuit analysis and troubleshooting.
Familiar with Root Cause and Fault Trees analyses.
Perform data analysis to identify trends in system performance or processes that may indicate poor performance or degradation and then suggest methods to intercept and mitigate the degradation.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and five (5) years of related experience. Or, three (3) years and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Strong leadership, influence, and people management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management and customers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as Technical manager, lead, or other similar leadership role with team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience working on space systems/launch vehicles is a plus.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. The goal of this function is to ensure we have all necessary assets fully developed and ready to meet these various requirements.
The position will support both commercial and military (including ITAR) programs within the Engines and Power Systems Strategic Business Unit, aligned with the Power Systems and Electric Power GBE. The selected candidate will work closely with the Electric Power Growth team within ETS, and the customer/product development project engineering teams in order to drive success. Expertise with generator products & systems is crucial for success.
The selected candidate is also accountable for project management, assuring that all development activities, capital projects, and tests are executed, on schedule, on budget, and in compliance with requirements. This position reports to the Director of Engineering Test Services.
Responsibilities include training, mentoring and development of the personnel reporting into the group; working directly with the E&PS Engineering Leadership teams to execute the programs while creating and implementing a transformational burning platform strategy for Electric Power systems to dramatically reduce cycle time and cost and improve Honeywell's competitiveness in the marketplace.
The primary measures of success are 1) Execution of test projects with high quality, 2) implementation of burning platform and NPD transformation initiatives to produce improved cost and schedule, 3) program schedule, and 4) program cost.
**Primary Responsibilities Include:**
+ Responsible for defining and executing the EP system master test plan to achieve overall product verification objectives within budget and schedule constraints and in compliance with requirements.
+ Responsible for providing direction and definition for laboratory facility capital upgrades related to the EP roadmap of product development and the test facilities necessary to deliver upon current and future program objectives, as led by the direct reporting laboratory test engineers and supported by the peer engineering organizations.
+ Mentors and trains the team to achieve all objectives for the EP test programs, utilizing demonstrated experience.
+ Approves technical content, technical commitments, and associated cost and schedule for all proposals or change orders (internal or external).
+ Responsible for technical decision making, including, without limitation, coordinating technical requirements with customers, and advising leadership and customers on all technical aspects and issues to achieve all technical requirements.
+ Supports and mentors the team toward developing and executing the complex and comprehensive Systems Integration testing that would be required for the new components and systems of the EP product line
+ Coordinates, as needed, with other functional areas and program PE Leads to ensure overall program success.
+ Partnering with program management, develops and implements a Management Operating System (MOS) to drive effective communication, interfacing, and execution of tasks & responsibilities across the cross-functional organization.
+ Sponsors and leads transformational projects to execute work differently to achieve NPD 50/50 goals.

**YOU MUST HAVE**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ 10+ years Engineering/Business/Test experience; Aero-Engine and/or Power Systems test experience preferred.
+ Leadership experience.
