The position works in the Burlington Department of Transportation providing technical support in the operation and management of the City's traffic signal system and multimodal transportation network including, but not limited to, roadways, traffic signals, street signage, pavement markings, sidewalks, bikeways, greenways and multi-use facilities. The employee will coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies (NCDOT) and apply specific focus to traffic operations and safety, congestion mitigation and transportation operations.
As a BDOT Division Manager, this employee will provide leadership and direction to the Traffic System Supervisor that manages the Traffic Signals Maintenance staff and the Signs and Pavement Marking personnel. The City recently completed a system wide upgrade to the outdated computerized traffic signal system in partnership with NCDOT. The Transportation Engineering and Operations Manager will have direct contact with citizens, City Council and appointed boards, business leaders, and community leaders. This position requires a Professional Engineering License in the State of North Carolina because work responsibilities under this position directly affect the public safety and welfare of our citizens. Responsible for continually monitoring the transportation system and identifying transportation improvement needs to ensure the transportation projects are compatible with the development and vision of the City.
Ability to lead staff and complete major projects and participate in the department budget process is required. The employee will work with the public on sensitive issues requiring good judgment, firmness and tact. Work will be performed under the general supervision of the Director of Transportation and will represent the Department and Director as needed.
Base salary and compensation are negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The position career salary range currently is $81,473.60 to $130,332.80. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package including a supplemental 401k program.

Job Description

Our Consultant IV/Project Manager (Controls Engineering) works on managing our small, medium and large sized projects. You will be responsible for the entire project life cycle from start to finish and working with a team of talented engineers to bring world class solutions to Avid customers.
Someone with superior project management skills and having worked in the system integrator/automation industry, will be will be an ideal fit for this role
A day in the life of an Project Manager (Consultant IV):
Responsible for the success of small, medium and large size projects
Develop estimates and proposals and manage delivery documentation for clients
Manage projects according to Avid's formal project management methodology.
Responsible for the budget, scope, resources, procurement, risk and safety of the project
Accountable for the forecast, estimate and proposals of projects
Manage all changes to the project plan, track project's execution and financials
Target relationships with clients while working to gain new and repeat business
Function as a mentor both formally and informally and support the mentoring activities among employees
Ability to coach and develop others on the Project Management process
Responsible for driving results of team members, coaching, mentoring and feedback
Ability to delegate effectively and motivate team members
Lay out approaches to control strategies, both continuous and batch
Interface with clients to gain overall business and functional requirements
Interface with the internal team to turn requirements into a technical design and overall system architecture
Qualifications
Required Skills
BS in Engineering (Computer Science/Information Technology/Electrical/ Electronics/Chemical preferred)
At least 5 more years of Project Management experience
At least 3 or more years of technical leadership experience
At least 2 or more years of people management (direct or indirect)
PMP Certification is a plus
Excellent communication skills
Process Control and Information System Design / Development experience
Experience working in the process based industries (Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Pulp and Paper, Food and Beverage would be preferred)
Experience in consulting and / or system integration
This is a full-time position. We offer our Project Managers a base salary, an incentive program and a full benefit package. You will also be eligible to take part in our profit sharing program. Generous relocation assistance is also provided for this role.

What You'll Do
We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to direct the technical approach and execution for a main internal project in the Fortnite ecosystem. They will be responsible for driving several engineering teams to be capable of meeting any technical challenge that may arise, curating the staffing levels across the various engineering specializations, providing critical technical insight and feedback, and supporting project planning from the engineering perspective. Communicate cross-discipline with Design, Art, UI, and Production to understand the goals and requirements of features to be implemented
Work with the engineering Leads to establish and refine our development roadmap
Challenge and align technical decisions across disciplines that lead the project to success
What we're looking for
A technical leader who excels at giving feedback and has demonstrated capabilities in facilitating team success
Experience in shipping AAA titles across multiple platforms
Experience with the unique challenges of creating and maintaining large-scale, live, online multiplayer games, with a focus on advanced networking, real-time physics, and dynamic, interoperating services
Advanced C++ skills and experience with scripting languages, low-level debugging, and optimization
Impeccable problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience collaborating with and managing relationships with both internal teams and external partners
Deep expertise in the product lifecycle for games, such as generating detailed technical requirements, assembling capable teams, executing said requirements, and building robust support systems to manage them
Experience with Unreal Engine 5
Architecting and building solutions in multiple areas of expertise - Gameplay, Graphics, Audio, UI, Networking, and Physics
Passionate about personal development, taking advantage of opportunities to continuously improve
Bachelor's degree in CS or other relevant technical field, 7+ years of game industry experience in an engineering role, and 3+ years in technical leadership roles, across multiple project/hardware cycles, desired
