Location: Overview:
The Director of Engineering is responsible for all administrative, financial and operating aspects of the hotel as they directly relate to the engineering division. He/she is responsible for the safe and profitable operation of the hotel.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and train all Engineering staff in Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures and Loss Prevention Standards.
Create, approve and post all Engineering staff schedules according to Highgate Hotel standards.
Create and adhere to annual budget for department.
Develop financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings.
Develop and implement plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in an acceptable state of repair.
Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
Create and implement a preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment.
Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per Highgate Hotel standards.
Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner.
Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and report findings to Front Desk. Take immediate action as necessary.
Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations.
Actively participate in energy conservation programs.
Review all guest and meeting planner comment cards to ensure problems are identified and corrected in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with the Americans Disabilities Act (ADA).
Administer all vendor contracts controlled by the engineering department.
Support and participate in all Highgate Hotel programs.
Lead and participate in Highgate Hotel Safety Committee.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related management experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related management experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Stationary Engineer's license if required by local code.
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.
Long hours sometimes required.
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

You will report to our Chief Technology Officer and will ideally be a hybrid role based out of either our Ridgewood, NJ, NYC, Los Angeles, or Oakland, CA offices.

The Ideal Candidate

Understanding of rotating power with reciprocating engines in the 200kW to 5MW size range per engine. This includes parallel operation with the utility and with other DERs, both in grid-parallel and island-mode operations.
Understanding of switchgear and relay protective settings (SEL, Beckwith)
Experience in medium voltage switchgear, including 13.8kV, 23kV, and 34.5kV
Core competency in transformer design, short circuit analysis, grounding schemes, and power systems analysis
Strong knowledge of the various DER power sources within the Microgrid and how they best interface with the utility to provide a more efficient system.
Demonstrated expertise and understanding of the US power markets, the interconnection process, and requirements.
Knowledge of systems controls for all the DERs and how they can be utilized to accomplish specific operating goals while part of the Microgrid.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people to make projects work.
Understanding relevant buildings, electrical, civil, etc., codes is a plus.
BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on the power side.
PE in power and electrical engineering is preferred.
Experience at an engineering/consulting firm is a plus.
Advanced courses in power or a higher-level degree in the field are preferred.

The Electrical PM will have expertise in electrical systems including electrical distributed power generation, feeds, distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, UPS, and low voltage systems. The PE is responsible for overseeing the engineering of these systems for major capital projects and initiatives from conceptualization through programming, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close out.
The Electrical PM will be responsible for multiple high-complexity projects of diverse scope that require an understanding of state of the art construction techniques and a high level of expertise in electrical systems, as well as rigor in compliance, and the highest standard of care. Science projects include research laboratories, vivarium, pilot scale manufacturing, major scientific equipment, amenity space, outdoor plaza, site lighting, and infrastructure projects.
The Electrical PM shall collaborate with the project team to effectively identify innovative solutions and bring clarity to the project process using a sophisticated analytical approach and sound judgement. Core focus areas include defining and meeting project goals for electrical systems, reviewing budgets, schedules, scopes, and quality, as well as risk mitigation and responding to field conditions and construction logistics and challenges.
The Electrical PM will be responsible to lead design teams and Construction Managers in both the pre-construction due diligence, design and scoping process with a focus on quality management, project controls, and user engagement as well as leading their teams through the bidding and construction administration process with a focus on field coordination, commissioning, substantial completion and close out.
Responsibilities
Assists the Project Management team in developing the budget and schedule for design and construction projects, including renovations and green field projects.
Works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Space Planning, EHS, Operations, and User teams to fully and rigorously document the electrical system requirements in the Owner's Project Requirements document.
Performs preliminary due diligence explorations of existing electrical systems during project initiation to identify any potential risks to the project and any opportunities for improving the building systems of existing buildings.
Assists the Project Manager and Procurement in the development of scopes of work for design professionals, construction managers, general contractors and commissioning agent RFPs. Assist in the evaluation and bid leveling of proposals.
Participates in regular project meetings.
Works directly with hired MEP engineers, consultants, and contractors to answer questions, resolve issues and develop solutions.
Provides supervision for all stages of the development and documentation of electrical requirements for lab and other equipment for the project. Collaborates with the Project Management team, internal engineers, end users, the Asset Management team, EHS, design professionals, lab equipment vendors, design professionals and contractors to ensure that all electrical system requirements for the equipment are met.
Provides detailed reviews of and comments on due diligence reports, test fits, Basis of Design documents, room data sheets, construction documents and specifications prepared by the design professionals, checking for thoroughness, accuracy and compliance with the project requirements, design and documentation standards and minimize errors and omissions.
Identifies long lead time equipment for potential Early Works purchasing by the contractor
Works with the Project Managers, Design Professionals and Contractors to find solutions to mitigate costs and schedule delays due to errors and omissions in the design documents and unforeseeable field conditions
Reviews shop drawings and submittals, RFI responses, and Change Orders
Makes frequent site visits to ensure that electrical requirements are being implemented correctly during construction and creates field reports.
Reviews Design Professional punch lists.
Manages commissioning, auditing, & validating facilities systems for Capital Projects.
Assists the Asset Management and Operations team in preparing equipment lists for import into the Integrated Workplace Management System
Coaches and Mentors other members of engineering staff and supervises day to day operation of electrical systems.
Interacts with municipalities and Con-Ed to obtain building permits and inspections.
Supervises, coordinates, and schedules work with outside contractors and internal technicians.
Audits, tests, commissions, and validates Facilities systems and also provide specialized engineering support services to RGC, PMPD, PCD, IT, & Vivarium groups.

The Global Process Engineering Authority (GPEA) will work closely with the Global Process Engineering Leader (GPEL), the primary focus area will be developing and deploying global standards in automation and robotics throughout GE Vernova's Gas Power business. This GPEA will design, develop, and implement factory automation and robotic systems to enhance safety, improve production quality, streamline manufacturing processes, and increase productivity. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of an automation system, from concept and design to programming, testing, and deployment.
This role requires a combination of expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical systems, and computer science. This person will also be responsible for standardization of automation equipment and processes, establishing standards, and ensuring adherence to these standards. They will also be a focal point for new technology introductions, asset transfers, new process introductions, and strategic P&E investments; inclusive of lead time, technology selection and recommendations for fixturing, process, control plans, and qualifications of manufacturing assets. The GPEA will coach and influence a dotted-line organization, comprised of factory technical leads across the supply chain.
Critical to the role is leveraging analytical skills, the lean methodology and the guiding principle of creating process standards for equipment ("One Product One Process") to drive SQDC in line with business and functional objectives. The candidate chosen for this position will acquire strong technical knowledge and extensive exposure to manufacturing, engineering, quality, and safe process development. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
* Design, develop, prototype and test innovative automated solutions and robotic systems and components.
* Integrate hardware, software, and sensors (such as LiDAR, cameras, and IMUs) into automation platforms.
* Program robots for specific tasks, including motion control, path planning, and autonomous navigation.
* Integrate all forms of industrial automation devices into plc logic (e.g. motion, vision, touch, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical)
* Troubleshoot and debug complex automation and robotic systems, resolving issues related to hardware and software.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or other related engineering field or equivalent knowledge / experience

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the properties meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough Indoor Air Quality Assessments (including lead, asbestos and mold) in schools, and other buildings, and maintaining accurate records of findings.
Responsibilities
Under supervision, conduct environmental, indoor air quality and other hazardous materials surveys.
Collect detailed field notes and photographs of site conditions and findings.
Prepare chain-of-custody documents for analytical testing, recording survey data on approved forms completely and legibly.
Ability to compose detailed sample location maps.
Compile and organize data for report. Present data and make recommendations to upper-level staff on recommendations. Prepare reports or portions of reports detailing survey/project information.
After training, use standard and specialized equipment, such as hand tools for collection of building material samples, high volume and low volume pumps, rotometer, XRF analyzer, moisture meter, mold pump, infrared camera, IAQ meter, peristaltic pumps, photo-ionization detector, low-flow groundwater stabilization pumps, and/or others.

Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible to maintain the buildings and grounds of the organization, directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. The Facilities Engineering Manager will make sure the buildings and grounds are maintained, which entails daily and weekly cleaning schedules as well as determining and scheduling repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections.The Facilities Engineering Manager is in charge of a budget and must negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs and other measures.
Essential Functions:
Plans, directs and, through subordinates, supervises facility management services including building and facility operating systems maintenance, repair and improvement and custodial services; reviews and evaluates current operating procedures and personnel practices and establishes procedures, practice and priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors; coordinates building and maintenance activities within the division and with other divisions and departments to obtain optimum production and utilization of personnel and equipment.
Responsible for overseeing the following programs: validation, calibration, PM, BM, Purified Water, Pest Control, Environmental & Safety, parts procurement and management, permits maintenance, sanitization, engineering SOPs implementation and training.
Supervises trains and evaluates staff directly and through subordinate supervisors/lead workers; establishes and enforces operating and safety standards and procedures for maintenance services and repair; gives direction, resolves problems, prepares work schedules and sets deadlines to ensure completion of services.
Coordinates preparation of the division's budget; monitors budget expenditures; analyzes staffing and expenditures requests; reviews requests for additional services; prepares contract specifications and negotiates and administers service and construction agreements for maintenance and alteration services.
Plans and assigns activities with other divisions/departments in association with project construction and remodeling.
Conducts periodic inspections of facilities to review work in progress. Performs inspections of mechanical items, buildings, and HVAC systems. Monitors maintenance performance and standards, investigates unusual trends and recommends necessary adjustments.
Additional Responsibilities:
Responds to calls during emergency situations related to safety, production break-down or facility issues.
Reviews and recommends acceptance for equipment and supplies related to Building Facilities.
Conduct surveys to ensure compliance and recommend or take corrective action as required.
Maintains project files, databases, spreadsheets, related documentation and Log Books. Write comprehensive reports and memos.
Prepares/updates/approves engineering standard operating procedures.
Education:
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Manufacturing, Equipment and Facility Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical or related field - Required
Experience:
5 years or more in Manufacturing, Equipment and Facility Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical or related field with a GED.
3 years or more in Management of people or project experience
3 years or more in cGMP and Pharmaceuticals experience
Skills:

The salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $140,000. In addition, Amneal offers a short-term incentive opportunity, such as a bonus or performance-based award, as well as a long-term incentive award, such as restricted stock units, with this position within the first 12 months.
