Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Systems EngineeringManager 2 to be located in Colorado Springs, CO. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will join a team of diverse Modeling, Simulations, and Analysis (MS&A) engineers in the model Verification and Validation (V&V) and model governance team as the team Product Owner. This role will involve leading a team that is developing MBSE content, defining and updating documentation standards, and reviewing V&V artifacts from external IPTs. The role will require regular coordination between teams and expertise in supporting artifacts from creation to DoD acceptance. Candidate must have an in depth of MBSE and the ability to coach and mentor others in the processes.
The selected candidate will also be responsible for a Systems Engineering discipline Section within the SDS Systems Engineering organization and will report directly to an SDS Systems Engineering Department Manager. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 8 and 12 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities will be personnel performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members, as well as staffing of roles on projects.
As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities with 80% of your efforts as the V&V Team Product Owner.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
A minimum of five (5) years of Engineering departmental supervision.
Experience conducting product and process investigations, including Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), with a focus on materials or manufacturing processes.
Experience managing and executing a portfolio of projects of varying scope and complexity.
Experience in product integrity management and qualification activities within a regulated industry
Experience in composites, chemical processes or materials science.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in the medium voltage and/or high voltage utility substations and power generation industry with experience in a supervisory role leading and running projects in greenfield and brownfield substations.
Relay testing of microprocessor-based protection IED's (SEL, ABB, Siemens, GE, etc.) with fully automated test equipment (Omicron CMC356) and test data management.
Experienced in high voltage primary equipment testing and commissioning involving power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, CT's, PT's, surge arrestors, disconnect switches, cap and reactor Banks, etc.
Testing and commissioning as per NETA/IEEE/IEC standards.
Strong understanding of safety standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an extreme attention to detail are essential.
Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs coupled with strong computer skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.
Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills.
NETA Testing Certification an asset.
