Job Description VERTEX is seeking a Project Engineer, Scientist, or Project Manager to execute environmental assessment and remediation projects for top-tier clients in New England. Candidate will work on a hybrid schedule based in either our Boston or Braintree Office and be responsible for the successful completion of projects including, but not limited to, the following: Conduct and manage environmental site assessments including subsurface investigations of soil, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air. Plan and execute environmental remediation projects, including soil excavation and treatment, groundwater remediation, and vapor intrusion pathway mitigation. Provide oversight to field staff and subcontractors conducting site investigation and remediation projects. Ensure that project deliverables, milestones, and budgets are met. Work closely with senior managers in the coordination of work activities to meet milestones, budgetary limits, deadlines, or other performance indicators. Prepare, review, and submit final reports in accordance with regulations, applicable guidance and policies, and internal quality control standards. Operations Make employee safety a priority both in house and on site, in accordance with corporate policy. Prepare clear and accurate proposals for assessment and remediation projects. Oversee the management and staffing of projects. Ensure compliance of projects with all local, state and Federal regulations, as well as compliance with corporate policy. Ensure high quality deliverables for the Practice Area. Meet utilization and financial goals. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental field. 5+ years of professional experience and technical proficiency in environmental consulting services, including subsurface investigation and remediation. Experience with assessment, remediation, and compliance with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) as well as other relevant regulatory programs for the region. Successful track record in managing multi-faceted environmental projects with multiple services and accelerated schedules. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; working knowledge of Office 365 applications preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates with the Following Qualifications will be Prioritized Licensed Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in Massachusetts, or successfully on track for professional licensure. Master's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental field. Experience conducting Property Condition Assessments (PCAs). Experience assessing and overseeing abatement of hazardous building materials Additional Information The salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $100,000.
