Job Overview
Leading the Engineering department and reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Engineering Operations provides leadership, vision and support for the engineering team. The Director, Engineering Operations manages and coordinates the work of the engineering team and provides leadership, support and focus while ensuring company goals are met.
Responsibilities
Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within an organization.
Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization\'s established policies and objectives.
Oversees a robust engineering process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.

Ensure engineering procedures required to mitigate risk of engineering flaws in designs or drawings are in place and being executed.
Conducts a continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the product line.
Prepare and maintain summary of overall engineering status for each project for weekly reporting to General Manager, CEO, or other Directors.

Qualifications
Strong operational skills in a product development environment

Extensive knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.
Ideal Candidate:
Demonstrated expertise in thermal dynamics, fluid dynamics, and material science as they relate to cryogenic environments.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to cryogenic fluids and industrial equipment.
Strong technical background in cryogenic pumping systems, including principles of operation, design considerations, and performance characteristics.
Expertise in utilizing engineering software and tools relevant to cryogenic pump design and analysis.

Ensures all team members follow testing standards and safety procedures; promptly report and investigate all quality failure incidents.

Job Responsibilities
Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians in supporting the ongoing manufacturing of commercial products as well as ensuring flawless integration of new products into the manufacturing environment.
Daily work includes leadership and execution in both sustaining and project work -complete the types of projects that remove the need for engineering intervention- improving safety, quality, output and cost.
Provide support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met. Further, improve systems to monitor performance of equipment, machines and tools and correct equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields or product quality issues. Interface with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
Process validation and verification work is frequently required - knowledge of Process Validation Plans, IQ, OQ, PQ, Software validation, test method validation, gage R&R, and a clear understanding of FDA's QSR and cGMP and a good understanding in statistics.
Creation and maintenance of models for product cost and capacity to help prioritize engineering and production resources related to improvement projects.

Candidates MUST BE local to the Irvine, California area with a willingness to work on-site two to three days per week as necessary As a Manager, Pre-Sales Engineering, you will lead, develop, mentor and grow a team of pre-sales engineers. You will work closely with Engineering Leadership on process, alignment and reporting while peering with colleagues in order to set business priorities across the different technologies we support.
YOUR IMPACT
The essential functions of this position include:
* Oversee, train, assist and develop the Pre-Sales staff
* Lead a team of systems engineers to deliver pre-sales technical support in sales presentations, solution development, and product demonstrations of ePlus capabilities
* Lead, grow, and mentor your Sales Engineering team to develop and maintain skills necessary to deliver proposed solutions around our strategic technologies such as Core, Data Center, UC and Security
* Develop and improve processes and procedures to minimize errors, maximize efficiencies and ensure a clean handoff from pre-sales to post-sales
* Manage group workload and resource scheduling across multiple projects/opportunities with pre-sales coordinator
* Develop methodology to measure and delegate opportunities that will allow for visibility to workload and forecasted needs
* Conduct typical management functions such as interview/hire qualified candidates, conduct performance reviews, and actively participate in employee career planning
* Conduct customer presentations on ePlus value proposition and technical solution set for assigned accounts and focus areas throughout the Region (and Nationally, when requested)
* Work with ePlus personnel and ePlus National Practice Leads to help develop differentiated solutions
* Develop training roadmaps for individuals and/or team as it relates to our strategic portfolio
* Assist account teams with collecting customer business and technical requirements and determining ePlus recommended solution(s)
* Assist sales account managers and pre-sales engineers with overall account planning as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity development
* Assist with RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, as presented
* Responsible for review of Statement of Work (SOW) prior to customer presentation
* Function as a liaison between the sales team and professional services organization to ensure timely and accurate proposals are generated
* Follow ePlus' performance review process to promote communication, provide useful feedback about job performance and contribute to an employee's professional development
As a manager, you are also expected to:

QUALIFICATIONS
* College Degree in related field or equivalent business experience required
* 5+ years of applicable technical pre-sales experience in the IT industry preferred

* Previous VAR managerial experience preferred
* Proven ability to align with sales and operations for coordinated efforts in growing the business
* Thorough knowledge of full customer engagement cycle
* MS Office Suite (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Ability to present to all levels of executive and technical management
POSITION SPECIFICS
The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $180,000 annually.
The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.

At EUSSD, compensation is determined through a comprehensive approach that considers candidate qualifications, role responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational needs. Pay may vary by location; for this position, the annual base salary target range is $172,000-$190,000, with potential eligibility for bonuses or commission depending on the role.
About the Role:
Plans and oversees the engineering activities for a group of engineers which may include different disciplines (mechanical and/or electrical). This role will be responsible for developing new designs, proposing budgets for engineering-related projects and overseeing all the activities related to each project, and work alongside the engineers on various testing projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and refines test engineering processes

Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Strategy
o Serve as a key member of the resort's executive leadership team.
o Develop and implement a long-term capital improvement and preventive maintenance plan.
o Lead and manageEngineering, Landscaping, Security, Sustainability, and Housekeeping Maintenance functions.
• Facility & Maintenance Oversight
o Ensure optimal operation of all systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life-safety, irrigation, and pools.
o Proactively identify maintenance needs and execute timely repairs with minimal guest impact.
o Oversee vendor management, procurement of services, and contract negotiations for building systems and renovations.
• Sustainability & Efficiency
o Develop and monitor energy, water, and resource conservation programs aligned with environmental best practices for the desert climate.
o Maintain all regulatory compliance related to building systems, fire safety, ADA, and sustainability requirements.
• Guest Experience & Brand Standards
o Partner with Rooms, Spa, and F&B teams to ensure all guest-facing infrastructure is maintained to pristine standards.
o Quickly respond to operational challenges and ensure immediate resolution of issues that affect the guest experience.
• Team Development
o Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing facilities and engineering team.
o Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and luxury service standards.
• Financial Management
o Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure planning.
o Track key metrics, control operational expenses, and optimize asset performance.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8-10 years progressive leadership experience in luxury hotel/resort operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Proven success managing multi-million dollar CapEx and renovation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Hospitality Management, or related field (preferred).
• Experience working in desert or extreme climate conditions highly desirable.
• Advanced understanding of sustainability and green building certifications a plus (e.g., LEED, WELL).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Available to respond to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis as needed.
