Daily Responsibilities:: Serve as a technical leader for development projects. Lead and manage team of hardware and electrical engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support thought the product development lifecycle. Manages application support initiatives such as hardware compatibility and custom product requests. Define project goals, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with company and customer requirements. Responsible for project schedules, and documentation of work and results including KPI's. Drive the hardware development process, including concept development, schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping and testing. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as software engineering, manufacturing, and product management to ensure seamless integration and successful product launches. Set clear expectations, assign tasks, and prioritize workloads to optimize team productivity and efficiency. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality standards within the hardware engineering team. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members. Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in hardware engineering, and effectively apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure effective collaboration and project success. Cooperatively provides hands-on job function training to co-workers as needed. Must understand and comply with Safety, 5S, ISO, and other corporate programs, initiatives and procedures. Other duties or special projects as assigned Required Skills: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related field. Minimum five (5) years' experience as an Engineering Manager. Experience with project management and working with software teams cross functionally. Strong team skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external groups as part of various initiatives. A record of successfully bringing hardware products from concept to mass production. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, internet, and computer-aided design and drafting. Proficiency in using hardware design and analysis tools, such as SolidWorks, Altium or similar. Solid understanding of hardware design principles, including digital and analog circuitry, schematic capture, PCB layout, and design for manufacturing (DFM), along with typical design input quality tools (e.g., QFD, Design FMEA, DFA/m, VA/VE). Experience with product certification processes and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., UL, CE). Experience with Jira or similar tools is highly desired. Ability to perform Return on Investment (ROI) analysis. Ability to establish and execute work plans based on the results of strategic planning and input from Executive Management. Ability to effectively handle stressful situations.
