**Responsiblities**
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Provide programmatic and administrative direction for the Livermore Operations (LO) Diagnostic Engineering group, including personnel at multiple locations.
+ With the utilization of subordinate management, oversee the Production Engineering and Diagnostic Field Services groups.
+ Be the Subject Matter Expert for the Stockpile Experimentation and Operations (SEO) Technologies and Operations directorate in the areas of Engineering Design and Configuration Management.
+ Ensure compliance with Company directives and industry best practices.
+ Provide leadership for Livermore Operations in the areas of Quality Assurance, calibrations, and accreditation through the NVLAP organization.
+ Diversify the portfolio of engineering design and development of other projects.
+ Facilitate and support activities related to design and engineering development of new advanced technologies for customer experiment and testing requirements, the maintenance and expansion of Engineering efforts at LO, and interface with customers to develop work scope, scheduling, and reporting requirements.
+ Define and communicate priorities that balance customer needs with other programmatic deliverables.
+ Monitor and review project status, perform safety and quality management assessments, and maintain engineering records and reports.
+ Design and present formal and informal presentation to broad audiences, including technical and administrative support personnel, engineers, scientists, and all levels of internal and external management teams.
+ Promote new work opportunities.
+ Participate in team leadership initiatives that focus on organizational health and sustainability.
+ Promote a culture of compliance with company directives.
+ Define personnel, equipment, and training needed by the team to achieve success in meeting programmatic deliverables.
+ Functional manager responsibilities include personnel / performance management and fostering teamwork across groups at LO and within Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS).
+ Implement and demonstrate applicable environment, safety, health, and quality requirements; emphasize the safety of each employee, and the protection of equipment and property in area of responsibility.
+ Take immediate action to correct reported or observed unacceptable environment, safety, health and quality conditions and/or behaviors.
+ Assure that appropriate procedures, training, equipment, warnings, and tools are provided to employees to permit work to be performed safely.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 14 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of advanced technology and methodology in diagnostic design, high-voltage electronics, and high-speed sensor technology preferred.
+ Working knowledge of underlying physics to conceptualize instrumentation for high-speed diagnostic design and development.
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects and personnel to meet technical and administrative requirements.
+ Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills and be an overall strong team leader with the proven ability to communicate and work well with people with different technical backgrounds.
+ The primary work location will be at the Livermore Operations Facility.
+ Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
+ Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
+ Must possess a valid driver's license.

This role leads a team of engineers specializing in Postgres (RDBMS) and Hazelcast (Distributed In-Memory cache). This team works independently or as an essential part of a cross-functional group to identify, plan, develop, and deploy database solutions using AWS RDS, Postgres EDB, Hazelcast (In-Memory DB), and related technologies. This position also serves as the primary contact for the Postgres database and distributed caching platform team handling escalations. This role is accountable for managing resources, overseeing planning and delivery of database and caching services, and serving as the service/product owner. This position is responsible for executing database and caching solutions and processes that ensure high availability, efficiency, performance, integrity, recovery, and ease of support.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Over five (5) years of demonstrated technical leadership within a 12-year career, guiding complex migration and modernization initiatives.
12 years of experience managing Postgres databases within the EDB ecosystem, with at least five (5) years in cloud environments, preferably AWS, demonstrating expertise in services like AWS RDS, Cloud-native PostgreSQL, security configurations, user access control, IAM, and AWS-based database administration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing reports and executive-level presentations.
Experienced in managing teams, including performance evaluations and personnel development.
Practical experience working with distributed databases and distributed caching systems.
Acts as a mentor and technical leader, inspiring and challenging a skilled team while supporting their growth and development.
Skilled in capacity planning and performance evaluation for AWS RDS, Postgres Distributed, and in-memory database technologies such as Hazelcast, Redis, or Memcached.
Proven track record in overseeing product and technology initiatives, working closely with program management, and aligning with stakeholders to define priorities and plan roadmaps.
Extensive experience managing production systems, developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and supporting complex RDBMS architectures like cloud-native Postgres and distributed caching on AWS EKS.
Deep knowledge of the ITIL framework and hands-on experience in change and problem management processes.
Proficient in using collaboration tools such as MS Office, JIRA, ServiceNow, or equivalent platforms.
Well-versed in Agile software development methodologies.

Lead Exhibition Technical Engineer
works in a unique immersive arts exhibition managing areas of lighting, sound, video, projections, networking, show power, control, automation, interactive game mechanics, computer art installations, and animatronics. This role is responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance of exhibit technology, along with design and development of enhancements to ensure a robust and consistent guest experience within the exhibition. The Exhibition Technology team is tasked with operating and maintaining the exhibition daily, supporting special events, media events and contributing to new exhibit installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for the team in best practices, standard operating procedures, safety related work practices as well as build and create the documentation of custom interactive artwork, objects and installations that seam together sensors, micro-controllers, computers, lights, sound, video, and various electromechanical elements that are part of the exhibition.
This role is charged with coordinating maintenance staff to repair and maintain all show systems at the highest standard of quality and ensuring that documentation for maintenance and inspections are recorded using the Corporate CMMS.
This individual will carry out installations, repairs, and upgrades on technical show equipment and systems, adhering to electrical codes, regulations, and standards.
Manage parts inventory and software backups.
Respond to and resolve any immediately solvable technical problems.

* Strong knowledge of various communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485, JTAG, and PCIe.
* Possess the fundamental conceptual knowledge of FW interaction with HW.
