Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a **Specialty Test Engineering Manager 2** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation (T&E) organization. This leadership role is in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is a dual-hat position that requires the candidate to perform Functional Homeroom (FHR) management activities as well as the individual's program responsibilities. The T&E FHR role will comprise 20% of the candidate's time; 80% of the selectee's time is expected to be directly funded by test activities from multiple programs. The Specialty Test Engineering Manager will lead a team of Wind Tunnel Model Design, Structural Test and Systems Test engineers. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with elevated expectations, be result oriented and be capable of overseeing multiple unique Test Set-up and Test Execution. The team designs models, coordinates their fabrication, and executes tests at our on-site wind tunnels and specialty test facilities as well as offsite contractors or government-owned facilities. In the FHR role, the individual is responsible for comprehensive staff management, encompassing day-to-day communications, personnel issue resolution, and general oversight. The ideal candidate will apply their test, mechanical, and leadership skills in a dynamic environment. Qualified individuals will collaborate with various disciplines and all levels of personnel throughout full lifecycle of Wind Tunnel and Specialty Testing, i.e: Test Planning, Hardware and Instrumentation design, procurement and/or manufacturing, Test set-up, Test Execution, Data Reduction and Test Report Preparation and presentation. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do. **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:** + Must have a bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience + Experience with wind tunnel model testing + Experience managing or leading an engineering team + Must have a have a current active DoD Secret Clearance to start + Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. + Familiarity with EVMS and CAM responsibilities **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + 5+ years direct hands-on experience with test and mechanical design + Model design experience and a skilled user of CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks or CATIA + 5+ years of experience with Stress Analysis + Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills + Certified CAM training + Experience with and understanding of complete cradle-to-grave wind tunnel testing cycle, interfaces, and integrations from model design, wind tunnel data analytics and design, and instrumentation system designs. Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
