Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, the Manager is responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing Engineers, Tooling Designers, and Process Engineering Specialists performing the design, documentation, validation, and engineering support of all aspects of aircraft production for the introduction and ongoing support of new products at Cirrus Aircraft in accordance with the FAA Part 23 type design regulations and CFR 21 production certificate regulations. S/he provides leadership, oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
Direct reports include individual contributors and area leaders. Team typically consists of approximately 8-16 people. The role manages assignments of staff to projects; develops team member skills, progression plans, and performance reviews; and provides growth opportunities, recognition and rewards. Monitors and provides training, mentoring and onboarding for team members. Hires and terminates employees within the discipline. Manages employee performance, including annual performance reviews.
This position deploys Manufacturing and Design standard work on a broad basis using industry methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Demand Flow Technology, and design for manufacturing (DFM).

JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Engineering is responsible for the successful execution of the company's business strategy through development, deployment, and performance of all engineering & automation related strategies. This role will lead the Jack Link's Engineering team to develop automation projects in collaboration with manufacturing plants and distribution centers and other functions/colleagues and will also provide hands-on support for implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, direct, and support the Engineering team by providing strategic guidance, best practices, leadership, and mentoring.
Lead the team to develop automation projects in collaboration with sites and other functions/colleagues and will also provide hands-on support for implementation as needed.
Work closely with operations leadership and stakeholders in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support engineering and automation-oriented solutions to optimize business processes and overall company performance.
Responsible for driving a culture of innovation to stay ahead of competitors and develop cutting edge improvements for the organization from both a short-term and long-term basis.
Responsible for the development of engineering vision and ensuring it is appropriately applied to capital projects, plant modifications or other enhancements.
Manage large, complex projects and initiatives, deal with ambiguity and be responsible for embracing Jack Link's commitment to customers, customer service and sales.

The salary range for this role is $
200,000 - $230,000
(Annually). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience.
