A day in the life
• Coordinate efforts to model optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations
• Working with teams across Amazon to identify opportunities and provide data driven decision support to improve capacity and material flow optimization tools, material flow performance, simulation, and emulation of existing site performance.
•Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners
• Building strong partnership with operations field leaders to understand improvement opportunities.
• Analyzing and solving operational barriers with a focus on understanding root causes and driving forward solves.

About the team
The NASC Under-the-Roof Optimization AMP Team's sole objective is to develop tools for under the roof simulation and optimization, supporting the needs of our internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Capacity Planning, Labor Planning, NASC Engineering, Finance, Safety and Operations). We develop products and tools to evaluate what-if design and operations scenarios for new and existing sort centers to understand their robustness, stability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. We conceptualize new data science solutions, using optimization and machine learning platforms, to analyze new and existing process, identify and reduce non-value added steps, and increase overall performance and rate.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience

Your Day to Day as the Director of Engineering:
