Job Description
Join our team as Director, Engineering where you will lead a dynamic team of Engineering, Security and Landscaping professionals servicing our 226 rooms, 8 bodies of water, 40,000 sq ft Spa, and 14 acres of property.
Provide leadership and direction for the day to day operations of the Engineering & Security Teams with a focus on service and operational logistics
Develop and implement the Preventative Maintenance Program for guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems while working closely with Operational Divisions
Provide the technical information for repair, maintenance, operation, modification, and replacement activity to ensure all jobs are being done correctly
Oversee the landscaping of the Hotel and pool maintenance
Participate in the preparation of CAPEX expenditures for Hotel as well as annual budget preparation for department and monthly forecasting and commentary
Recruit, schedule, complete payroll, performance reviews and the training & development, and engagement strategies all engineering team members
Coordinate and manage outside contractors, including sourcing of appropriate suppliers, preparation of purchase orders, facilitation of supplier negotiations
Assist in the monitoring of energy and water management programs
Monitor, update and implement the fire safety plan, building evacuation and disaster recovery plan
Coordinate and complete all audits related to engineering and risk management
Manage the hotel emergency response team in coordination with security and hotel management
Actively participate in the Hotel's energy management, Occupational Health & Safety and environmental programs
Ensure compliance with all city and state regulations and ordinances
Perform inspections of the property and monitor compliance with government and city regulations, to ensure all laws are followed and guests and employee safety
Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
Ensure a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting colleague and guest health and safety.
Assist in overall management responsibilities as needed
Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Previous leadership experience in the Engineering/Maintenance field, preferably in a Hotel Setting
Proven supervision of various building maintenance and construction trades including work scheduling, project management, personnel
Technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and all areas of engineering
Knowledge in all municipal codes, state regulations, OSHA regulations as well as fire department requirements and building testing
Engineering degree/diploma and/or valid trade qualifications preferred
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
Service focused personality and passion for hospitality
Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills
Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
Annual salary range $131,040-$145,600.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**

**SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:**
* Assist Director of Engineering in various areas within the Engineering Department including administrative needs and staff management.
* Assist in maintaining close control and inventory of supplies, equipment and uniforms.
* Assist in ordering supplies and processing invoices within BirchStreet system.
* Assist with monthly safety meetings and safety training.
* Assist with maintaining SDS - Safety Data Sheets binders and various hotel equipment inspections logs.
* Maintain, update and responds to Marriott GXP request.
* Able to troubleshoot repair and provide preventative maintenance in ice machines walk/reach-ins split systems package units and all other HVAC related equipment.
* Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of all hotel equipment.
* Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
* Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
* Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
* Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
* Display above average engineering operations skills and strong general mechanical ability.
* Display advanced ability to read standard blue prints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC.
* Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
* Communicate with Engineers, Director of Engineering and General Manager on projects as assigned.
