POSITION SUMMARY

This position is 25% travel throughout the state of Alaska and with a workspace out of Anchorage. Monday - Thursday 6 am-4:30pm.This position requires a level of confidence to work in geographic isolation, so the candidate must have the technical knowledge and aptitude to create solutions in unique situations. Crown is hiring Full-Time Electronics Technician in Anchorage, Alaska to join our team of floating electronics installers. This position is 25% travel throughout the state of Alaska and with a workspace out of Anchorage. Monday - Thursday 6 am-4:30pm.This position requires a level of confidence to work in geographic isolation, so the candidate must have the technical knowledge and aptitude to create solutions in unique situations. The Electronics Technician will receive technical advice from a Technical Manager and/or Engineer, however will still be expected to work largely in a stand-alone capacity due to the nature of the work, and will need to be a de-facto on-site Electronic/Communications Subject matter Expert (SME).
Although each installation is unique, typical duties include:
Conduct pre-installation meetings.
Coordinate frequency outages with relevant stakeholders.
Remove and dispose of existing communications equipment.
Install new radio racks, radios, and other government-furnished equipment (GFE).
Install new or upgraded conduit and cable trays.
Remove and replace antennas as required.
Install junction boxes to support system functionality.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Electronics Degree or at least 5 years of related experience installing/fabricating Military, Federal, or Commercial Radio electronic equipment or fiber optic cable.
Experience installing/fabricating FAA National Airspace (NAS) communications systems, cabling, and equipment.
Working knowledge of VHF and UHF AM radios, including software, alignment, and setup of Radio Control Equipment (RCE).
Proficient in the use of manual/power tools and test equipment (multimeter, ohmmeter, power meter, oscilloscope, etc.).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Excel.
Understanding of Telco requirements (Commercial Telco, RCL, Field Cable, Fiber Optics, etc.).

Overview:
The Electronics Maintenance Technician III (Radar Tech III) supports the maintenance, repair, and operation of assigned threat RF emitter systems under the ARCTICS contract. The position ensures operational readiness by performing routine tasks, following technical orders (TOs), manuals, schematics, diagrams and adhering to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines. While working under little to no supervision, a Tech III plays a vital role in supporting Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) training missions.
Responsibilities:
Work with lower-level Technicians to troubleshoot and diagnose system failures.
Help train lower-level Technicians to understand and apply electronic principles and RF concepts.
Perform routine maintenance, including periodic, scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative checks, following TOs and OEM documentation.
Work with both high power and low power RF circuits including Klystrons, Travelling Wave Tubes, Magnetrons and Receivers.
Daily work involving reading, interpreting and writing of schematics, diagrams, specifications, manuals and other technical documents.
Proficient in troubleshooting electronic failures to the component level, desolder/solder, and replace faulty components.
Use electronic test instruments such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers to verify system functionality.
Operate assigned radar systems and prepare and equipment for scheduled training events, ensuring threat-faithful performance during JPARC operations.
