SUMMARY:
Souder, Miller & Associates is recruiting a full-time CAD Tech I-II for the General Civil Technical Sector in the Albuquerque, NM office. We are seeking a dynamic drafter who can multitask between numerous projects while maintaining effective communication with the remainder of the team. The CAD Tech I-II will directly support and coordinate with the Project Manager and design team. Have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, meet budgets, and be a team player. The candidate must be familiar with the application of principles, methods, and techniques of engineering technology. We are looking for someone who can complete a variety of tasks in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of national CAD Standards. Must be able to proficiently operate AutoCAD Civil3D software.
Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
Able to process various forms of data provided such as xml files, point data, GIS data, shape files, Landdesktop, etc.
Create, utilize, and modify plans, profiles, alignments, sample lines, and section views.
Must understand the plan and profiles, able to provide detailed and accurate drawings.
Create, manage, and edit line type styles, text styles, label styles, point group styles, etc.
Create, manage, and edit design surfaces through the use of feature lines, corridors, 3-D Polylines, point data, etc., or a combination of these components.
Understand and be able to operate plans that utilize ctb files and stb files.
Create, manage, and edit sheet set managers for complex projects while coordinating with support staff.
Prepare medium to complex design computations and quantity estimates.
Perform design of portions of non-routine projects or entire routine projects under infrequent supervision.
Assist in the preparation of drawings, and exhibits for reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and permits for projects.
Perform CAD drafting regularly to reduce designs to final drawings.
Understands civil terminology and other concepts related to civil engineering and construction practices.

Ability to work with a medium level of supervision.
Assist in the development of probable cost estimates for projects within the department.
Design review as well as some assistance preparing bids.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum High School Diploma is required, or an Associate degree in Drafting and design is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience preferred in related field.

AV is seeking an experienced Test Engineer for multiple programs within the Space Technologies division. The Space Technologies division falls under the Labs sector. The Space Technologies division has been developing the techniques, systems, subsystems, and design elements required to implement high reliability optomechanical and electrical systems.
The Test Engineer is a key member of an integrated team operating in a very dynamic environment. The candidate will work across engineering disciplines to help define V&V statements, develop SW for automated tests and provide overall systems support for multiple programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong optics background as well as hands-on experience with optical tests, optical test benches, autocollimators, vibration tables, thermal chambers, thermal vacuum chambers, Cleanrooms, and spaceflight hardware.

Work within the systems test team to refine System/Subsystem requirement verification statements and verification cross-reference matrices to ensure the requirements are testable.
Develop, document, and execute test plans and procedures for optical and opto-mechanical spaceflight components.
perform alignment, calibration, and verification testing of lenses, mirrors, beam paths, and sensor systems.
Implement test setups, including selection and integration of optical test equipment (interferometers, collimators, beam profilers, spectrometers, etc.).

Required Qualifications
B.S. or higher in Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

About the Role
You will be responsible for the assembly, wiring and plumbing on electromechanical systems. Systems include vacuum, power generation, pulse forming section and oil system. You must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings to be able to assemble, field and troubleshoot these complex systems.
Job Requirements
Assemble racks, HV/LV harnesses, enclosures, panels, and motion/actuation subsystems.
Install pumps, valves, seals, gauges; leak-check and maintain oil and vacuum systems.
Mount sensors, route signal cabling, and bring up data acquisition system (DAS)-oscilloscopes, probes, DMMs, and troubleshoot connection issues.
Read schematics and harness drawings; crimp/terminate to specification; label, route and document work.
Run electrical checkouts, resolve system noise, troubleshoot high voltage (HV) systems, and restore electromechanical systems to operational status.
Preventive/corrective maintenance, spares, calibration, and readiness of tools and materials. Responsible for calibration of oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.- Execute HV/LOTO, ESD, rigging, and lift plans, proper use of PPE; maintain clear and concise safety records.
Capture build notes, monitor/maintain electromechanical systems, and feed improvements back to engineering.
Minimum Requirements
3-7+ years experience building and integrating complex electromechanical systems (emphasis in pulsed power).
Mastery of hand tools and metrology; expertise in electrical wiring and safety.
Experience working with high voltage/high current systems and precision timing of operations.

About Our Team:
The Above Ground Testing (AGT) Accelerator Operations (1332) department is responsible for the operation of the Saturn, HERMES III, and SPHINX pulsed power accelerators. The primary objective of the department is to provide an applied research environment for the study of radiation effects on materials and electronics. The three accelerators generate electrical pulses of up to 20 million Volts and up to 12 million Amperes with nanosecond duration in order to create extremely intense pulsed radiation environments for the study of radiation effects sciences.
Department 1332 also conducts pulsed power research and development to: improve radiation source fidelity, increase the output and fluence, as well as to improve the overall reliability and reproducibility of the accelerators. These unique, world class facilities are an essential part of the NNSA s Stockpile Stewardship Program.

AV is seeking an experienced Test Engineer for multiple programs within the Space Technologies division. The Space Technologies division falls under the Labs sector. The Space Technologies division has been developing the techniques, systems, subsystems, and design elements required to implement high reliability optomechanical and electrical systems.
The Test Engineer is a key member of an integrated team operating in a very dynamic environment. The candidate will work across engineering disciplines to help define V&V statements, develop SW for automated tests and provide overall systems support for multiple programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong optics background as well as hands-on experience with optical tests, optical test benches, autocollimators, vibration tables, thermal chambers, thermal vacuum chambers, Cleanrooms, and spaceflight hardware.
On any given day the selected candidate may be asked to perform the following:
+ Work within the systems test team to refine System/Subsystem requirement verification statements and verification cross-reference matrices to ensure the requirements are testable.
+ Develop, document, and execute test plans and procedures for optical and opto-mechanical spaceflight components.
+ perform alignment, calibration, and verification testing of lenses, mirrors, beam paths, and sensor systems.
+ Implement test setups, including selection and integration of optical test equipment (interferometers, collimators, beam profilers, spectrometers, etc.).

Job Requirements
Assemble racks, HV/LV harnesses, enclosures, panels, and motion/actuation subsystems.

Mount sensors, route signal cabling, and bring up data acquisition system (DAS)-oscilloscopes, probes, DMMs, and troubleshoot connection issues.

Capture build notes, monitor/maintain electromechanical systems, and feed improvements back to engineering.

3-7+ years experience building and integrating complex electromechanical systems (emphasis in pulsed power).
Mastery of hand tools and metrology; expertise in electrical wiring and safety.
Experience working with high voltage/high current systems and precision timing of operations.

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Technologist to join our team. About Our Team
The Above Ground Testing (AGT) Accelerator Operations (1332) department is responsible for the operation of the Saturn, HERMES III, and SPHINX pulsed power accelerators. The primary objective of the department is to provide an applied research environment for the study of radiation effects on materials and electronics. The three accelerators generate electrical pulses of up to 20 million Volts and up to 12 million Amperes with nanosecond duration in order to create extremely intense pulsed radiation environments for the study of radiation effects sciences.
Department 1332 also conducts pulsed power research and development to: improve radiation source fidelity, increase the output and fluence, as well as to improve the overall reliability and reproducibility of the accelerators. These unique, world class facilities are an essential part of the NNSA s Stockpile Stewardship Program.
