The Engineering Tech supports manufacturing operations by executing engineering, quality, and lean initiatives across assembly, machining, stockroom, and shipping areas. This role combines technical expertise with continuous improvement skills to ensure efficient production processes, quality standards, and lean transformation goals.
**In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Execute special projects assigned by Engineering, Quality, or OpEx leadership.
+ Analyze production data, scrap issues, test logs, and productivity metrics; recommend corrective actions and improvement ideas.
+ Develop and maintain assembly procedures, operational sheets, and work instructions.
+ Perform basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance as directed.
+ Support lean initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S, and waste reduction projects.
+ Initiate and create production procedures, including SOPs
+ Evaluate parts/components using quality control methods and equipment.
+ Compile and print dispatch reports; determine bill of materials for assembly analysis.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
+ Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately.
+ Train and assist team members on manufacturing processes and lean practices.
+ Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering; alternatively, an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
+ Knowledge of basic electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics
+ Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to set up and operate a variety of assembly and test equipment within the prescribed procedures and standards
+ Ability to teach and train others as needed.
+ Familiarity with lean tools and techniques (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping).
+ Developing procedures and work instructions
+ Team-oriented mindset with problem-solving skills.
**Physical Demand:**
+ While performing duties you may be required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and/or lift up to 40 pounds throughout an entire shift. May be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week based on production needs.
+ Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
+ PPE's will be required including safety glasses, ear plugs, hand protection and/or safety shoes.

Duties and Requirements of the Job

* Start up, process and shut down the compound injection molding equipment and lines.
* Conduct tool changes on compound injection molding lines

* Oversee the chemical room which includes but not limited to;
* Monitoring and troubleshooting Caloritronic Gravimetric blending system
* Ordering supplies from the off- site warehouse
* Changing out the chemical boxes when one is empty
* Cleaning the equipment daily in the chemical room
* Trouble shooting issues with the vacuum pumps, filter system, mixing equipment and hopper in the chemical room
* Operate, program and trouble shoot 3 robots
* Trouble shoot issues with the PUR (ABB) robot, PUR mixing station and PUR RHD and LHD fixtures
* Build and repair the PUR mixing head and A and B valve
* Operator the PUR robot to a level of programming it to touch up out of tolerance points
* Trouble shoot 3 Sonic Welders
Payrate is approximately $26/HR (Payrate may change depending on experience)

Instrumentation Technician
Must be able to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
Calibrates, installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
Cuts, bends and installs tubing needed for the proper installation of the instrumentation device.
When needed, reads and understands quality control manuals and testing specifications in order to obtain data needed to test or calibrate specific devices.
Sets controls to regulate factors, such as current flow, timing cycle, pressure or vacuum, or temperature according to specifications.
As needed, disassembles instrument or device in order to determine cause of defective operation or failure.
Rejects malfunctioning devices and routes to specified departments for repair or salvaging of survivable parts.
Layout, fabricate and install tubing and tub trays.
Apply knowledge of mathematics to instrumentation, such as ratio and proportions, numbers with power of 10's, algebra equations, English-to-metric conversion, inches of water to PSI, inches of mercury to PSI, etc.
Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings and prepare job reports.
Assemble and disassemble all types of electronic process controls, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems and components.
Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures and be able to read, interpret, apply and know where to find other procedures.
Understand the principles of pH and redox and equipment needed to measure them and be able to control the pH and redox of a liquid.
Understand steam and how it reacts to different situations, (e.g. saturation properties).
Work with the principles of chemistry and physics required in instrumentation such as specific gravity, density of liquids and solids, mechanical advantages, proportions of liquids, melting points, freezing points, boiling points of liquids, etc.
Troubleshoot and check out electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
Understand fundamental instrumentation loops and how they function as a loop, and what the function of each component part is in each type of loop.
Understand common types of chemical plant process equipment such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, boilers, turbines and compressors.
Apply the procedures for measuring pressure level, flow, temperature, weight, density, heat flux, humidity and moisture, etc.
Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
Other duties as assigned.

Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Construction Site Visits - This position travels throughout Aiken County to observe the building and/or maintenance projects of the County roads and buildings. This position is usually involved in pre-construction meetings, and responsible for reviewing and understanding the plans. Having reviewed the plans for each project, the incumbent determines whether or not the work is being done according to plan. The incumbent will attempt to negotiate while onsite to resolve any potential problems. Those that cannot be resolved are referred to the Construction Manager or County Engineer.
2. Stormwater Assessment - While at the Construction site, the incumbent will check the management of pollutants from the site to be certain all required measures are being taken to prevent discharge into the local water supply. Any problems noted are normally addressed and remediated at the site. Any unresolved issues are referred to the Stormwater Manager.
3. CAD Drafting - This position MAY be involved in updating manual plans with CAD drawings, as well as updating the reports that accompany such drawings. This may involve researching for conceptual designs and presentation drawing and sketches for roads, drainage, buildings, and easement/right of way projects.
4. Mapping - This position may develop GIS maps and maintain databases for Engineering/Stormwater projects using ArcGIS software.
5. Administrative Duties - This position may be responsible for completing a variety of reports, including BMP's, citizen complaint reports, or other construction related paperwork.
This position works with very little supervision while traveling onsite. The incumbent is expected to understand the federal, state and local regulations governing this work, and to work collaboratively in the field to ensure compliance.
This job has specific physical requirements such as lifting, driving, ability to travel, etc. (Please specify in the box immediately below.); traveling and working at a construction site; stooping, standing, crawling; ability to safely walk and climb uneven terrain for extended periods of time, sometime in poor weather conditions.

Responsibilities
The Construction Discipline Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering) interns will perform meaningful work in support of the SRMC organization. The selected Construction Discipline Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering) interns will support construction field engineering in the planning and execution of construction field work to include review of design drawings and design change packages, work package development, material take-off, development of field material requisitions, inspection of completed work to ensure compliance to quality and design specification requirements. The selected interns should possess knowledge and working skills of MS Office programs and applications, good written and verbal communication skills, and general engineering and building code knowledge.
Additional Information:
The internship is expected to be a 10-12 week period from May 2026 until the end of July 2026. Housing is not provided, but reasonable rentals may be available through local university student housing offices. The selected candidate will be responsible for their own transportation.
A 40-hour work week is set and scheduled by the individual departments. SRMC utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), etc. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. Interns will be paid a competitive hourly rate; no summer interns will be assigned to shift work; overtime is not available; Interns will be paid for site holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th) as applicable.
Assignments will be located in SRMC facilities in Aiken, SC. Public transportation is not available, and interns will be required to arrange their own transportation. A valid Driver's License, Registration and proof of automobile insurance is required for driving on the Savannah River Site.

Job Description
As a Project EngineeringTechnician I for Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will be working under the immediate supervision/direction of a registered professional engineer. You will work as a team member alongside site managers and engineers to perform the required inspection or sampling services. Our special Inspections technicians play a critical role in the quality assurance for every construction project no matter how large or small. Special Inspections Technicians actively collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing along with the continuous monitoring of general contractor activities, which may include but are not limited to onsite testing and reporting of earthwork and soil construction; foundation/subgrade evaluation; reinforcing steel; concrete placements; masonry as well as asphalt testing. Special Inspections Technicians are also responsible for accurately preparing daily reports for submission to the assigned project engineer. These reports not only include your test results summary, but detailed construction site observations as well.
Minimum Job Requirements
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
High School Diploma or General Education (GED)
Valid Driver's License with Clean Motor Vehicle Driving history (3 years)
Ability to work outdoors on a construction site in all seasons and weather conditions for extended periods of time.
You must be self-motivated, able to efficiently work independently while completing scheduled tasks.
Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members, BLE leadership, clients, local, state, and federal authorities of all levels.
Must be detail oriented and work in a time conscious and time effective manner.
Basic knowledge in the operation of smartphones and computers for communication and record keeping (MS Office applications Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, lift (50 pound), tug and pull, on unstable, unpaved ground.

This position will perform a variety of technical engineering work to support senior engineer staff in the preparing of engineering documents, detail and reports. Assures construction of both private and public projects are built according to approved plans, and that the construction complies with County regulations and other governing agencies, as required. The position should be familiar with interagency regulations and standards and their application for projects within the county.
Examples of Duties
Note: The list below is not comprehensive; this job is also responsible for other duties as assigned.
1. Plan review - Review commercial and subdivision development plans to determine compliance with County Codes and regulations. Knowledge of the regulations for SC Department of Environmental Services (SCDES), USCOE, SCDOT and NPDES. May assist senior staff with final plat and as-built reviews. Expectations are 50% in the office reviewing plans and 50% in the field performing inspections.
2. Construction Site Visits - The employee in this position travels throughout Aiken County to observe the construction of subdivisions and stormwater facilities, verifying compaction, proof-roll tests and storm sewer installation and function according to the approved plans. The employee is usually involved in pre-construction meetings, and is responsible for reviewing and understanding construction plans to ensure compliance with the approved plans. The employee will attempt to negotiate while onsite to resolve any potential problems. Those that cannot be resolved are referred to the MS4 Coordinator or the County Engineer.
3. Stormwater Assessment - While on-site, the employee will inspect management of pollutants to ensure compliance with all necessary measures in order to prevent sediment runoff from the project area. Any issues identified should be promptly addressed and resolved on-site. Unresolved issues are referred to the Stormwater Manager.
4. Mapping - Develop GIS maps and maintain databases for Engineering/Stormwater projects using ArcGIS software.
5. Administrative Duties - Responsible for completing a variety of reports, including Sediment and Erosion Control Inspection reports, citizen complaint reports, or other construction related paperwork.
This position works with very little supervision while traveling to project sites. The incumbent is expected to understand the federal, state and local regulations governing this work, and to work collaboratively in the field to ensure compliance.
This job has specific physical requirements such as lifting, driving, ability to travel, etc. Traveling and working at a construction site; stooping, standing, crawling. Ability to safely walk and climb uneven terrain for extended periods of time, sometimes in poor weather conditions.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Level of Job-Related Education: Prefer an AA in Engineering, construction, environmental studies or related field of study.
Minimum Amount of Job-Related Experience: Min two (2) years at the equivalent of tech I level or one (1) year in a similar environment of plan reviewer; ability to read construction plans; knowledge of construction materials, NPDES permitting rules and regs, SCDES regulations and BMP practices.
Minimum Level of any Required Qualifications, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, or any Relevant Knowledge, Job Skill or Equivalent Experience: CEPSCI; SCDES storm water certified or ability to obtained within 4 months; AutoCAD is required for the job; experience with technical writing. Provide support to Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) as a Radiological Engineering (Nuclear Engineering or Health Physics) Intern - Limited Service Employee (LSE) on the Savannah River Site (SRS), a US Department of Energy (DOE) facility in Aiken, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
The Radiological Engineering (Nuclear Engineering or Health Physics) intern will perform meaningful work in support of the SRMC organization. The selected Radiological Engineering (Nuclear Engineering or Health Physics) intern will support Radiological Engineering initiatives throughout SRMC's facilities. This position will require a basis in math and calculations and a familiarity with computer codes, such as, MicroShield and MonteCarlo N-Particle (MCNP), and SCALE. While full knowledge is not required, a familiarity is benefitial.
Additional Information:
The internship is expected to be a 10-12 week period from May 2025 until the end of July 2025. Housing is not provided, but reasonable rentals may be available through local university student housing offices. The selected candidate will be responsible for their own transportation.
A 40-hour work week is set and scheduled by the individual departments. SRMC utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), etc. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. Interns will be paid a competitive hourly rate; no summer interns will be assigned to shift work; overtime is not available; Interns will be paid for site holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th) as applicable.
Assignments will be located in SRMC facilities in Aiken, SC. Public transportation is not available, and interns will be required to arrange their own transportation. A valid Driver's License, Registration and proof of automobile insurance is required for driving on the Savannah River Site.
Resumes will be reviewed by the selection panel in January 2026. All selected applicants will be contacted by February or March 2026.
If you are selected to participate in the SRMC internship program, additional information will be requested such as: SRMC employment application, references and official transcripts. You will be assigned to SRS General Employee Training and Drug and Alcohol test appointments before badging and commencement of assignment.

Candidate must be enrolled as a full-time student at:
An accredited four-year university, and currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering or Health Physics
Must have completed their Sophomore year.
In addition:
Must pass General Employment Training (GET)
Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT)
These two items will be scheduled before the intern starts work at Savannah River Site.
