As an EngineeringTechnician (Mechanical), you will:
* Instruct Midshipmen and provide support for faculty led courses in various Marine Engineering Laboratories.
* Be responsible for the implementation of proper operational processes and safety procedures in the laboratories.
* Demonstrate knowledge of welding technology and welding instruction, welding methods in a classroom/laboratory environment.
* Be responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and upgrading of various mechanical instructional equipment in all of the Marine Engineering laboratories.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, experienced professional mechanical technician who has experience providing instruction and maintaining equipment in an academic laboratory environment. The candidate will have experience in welding and machine shop operations, and have experience operating, installing and repairing complex instructional equipment. The candidate will have experience in various marine engineering environments, including diesel, steam, refrigeration, and others.

About the role:
We're looking for an enthusiastic, creative and detail-oriented problem solver to help support the production, service and repair of our unique solid-state laser devices.
Must have expertise working hands-on with assembly and/or development of small, sensitive, high precision instruments, preferably solid-state laser technology, with a high caliber technology company. • Test, troubleshoot repair and assemble lasers, subassemblies and various components, including high-voltage laser power supplies and other electronics.

Our Westchester based client is growing and seeking to hire a TemporaryTesting Technician
The Equipment Testing Technician will perform basic administrative and clerical functions to ensure that orders are properly entered in a timely and accurate manner. This position will also provide support to the Project Management team with preparing and compiling change orders.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Perform comprehensive testing on a variety of machines/equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
-Execute both routine and non-routine testing procedures to identify and resolve performance issues.
-Adhere to quality control processes to guarantee the reliability and safety of machines/equipment.
-Document testing, results, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
-Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear and concise reports on testing outcomes and equipment status.
Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., electronics, engineering, or similar) preferred.
1+ year experience as an Equipment Testing Technician or similar role in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment.
Familiarity with a variety of testing tools and equipment.
Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
Proficient in using testing instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of creating clear and concise reports and documentation.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Hourly $19 - $21 depending on experience
