Location: Coachella, California Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Process Engineering Technician will support the Chemical Process Engineer on the documentation, implementation, and systems commissioning in areas of batching operations, waste processing, and plant process improvement that enhance safety, consistency, and productivity. This role will be integral to maintain reliable, safe, and efficient process performance while assisting with data collection, trials, and implementation of new or improved processing methods. This position serves as a critical link between the Engineering and Production departments, ensuring process reliability, operational readiness, and execution of key development and improvement initiatives. This role aids in driving improvements to the batching and formulation process by analyzing performance, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing changes that enhance worker safety and productivity as well as product consistency. This role owns recycling and waste-handling process productiveness, ensuring proper handling, reduced waste generation, and compliance with environmental requirements. This role applies practical technical skills, process knowledge, and structured problem-solving while collaborating with the Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments. Qualifications * Associate's degree (A.S.) in chemical technology, process technology, mechanical engineering technology, or related field required. 3-5 years of chemical or process plant operation experience in lieu of formal degree is accepted. * 2-5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, batch processing, or related industrial environment preferred. * Experience supporting process optimization, quality improvement, maintenance reliability, or pilot plant projects is a plus. * Working knowledge of chemical or batch processing equipment, such as tanks, pumps, valves, and instrumentation. * Basic understanding of process control concepts, such as temperature, pressure, flow, and pH. * Strong attention to detail, record keeping, and technical accuracy. * Proficient with hand and power tools for setup, maintenance support, and small equipment adjustments. * Ability to collect, record, and interpret production and waste data accurately. * Familiarity with Excel, data trends, and SPC tools; experience with historical data analysis or SCADA systems is a plus. * Comfortable in a hands-on plant environment with ability to perform equipment checks, calibrations, and basic troubleshooting. * Continuous improvement mindset with interest in learning, problem-solving, and reducing waste and variation across production critical operations. * Must be authorized to work in the U.S. * To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government Armtec Behavioral Competencies Demonstrate ability in the Armtec competencies as an employee: customer focus, ethics and values, problem solving, integrity and trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action-oriented, composure and values diversity. The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Duties and Responsibilities: Schedule periodic courses of instruction Reference training manuals to determine the course of instruction Develop/follow lesson plans for various simulators Update lesson plans as changes occur for various simulators Incorporate new training and changes into simulator training Set up instruction site for training Prepare and print handouts for students Establish operating schedule at unit facility; prepare training systems for operations, operate training systems IAW training system O&M manuals, technical manuals and drawings; perform shutdown tasks at the end of training Perform PMCS and Operator-level repairs as required, report maintenance issues to the appropriate repair facility. Assist in system testing events and provide expertise in identifying and demonstrating system failure issues, operation or operator failures Use various test equipment such as: digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, logic analyzers, sine wave generators, fiber optic test equipment and other special test equipment Perform related collateral duties as required Minimum Requirements: US Citizenship Prior military experience Minimum three (3) years' experience in electronic technology discipline or training Experience as staff/instructor Familiarity with devices such as AGTS, ODS, LAV-DT Knowledge in simulations and MS Office Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner Working knowledge/understanding of military protocol/chain of command Ability to maintain effective working relationships, professional demeanor, and attitude; ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian workforce Occasionally training may be conducted on the weekend and one may be required to work on Saturday and Sunday.
