Job Summary
Company is seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Designer to provide design for a variety of buildings in
the Federal market sector. This position is for an experienced design technician with a background in HVAC,
piping, and plumbing design. Building types include administration/office buildings, battery storage, server rooms,
manufacturing, warehouses as well as maintenance facilities. The candidate should have leadership experience,
good communication skills and ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The candidate will be
responsible for the creation and maintenance of the mechanical systems REVIT models, modeling of building
mechanical systems and coordination with other disciplines models. In addition to design and production
responsibilities, may direct efforts of other mechanical technicians on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Able to demonstrate proficient use of programs such as REVIT MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks for modeling of
HVAC and plumbing systems
• Applies HVAC, mechanical and/ or plumbing knowledge and design practices to develop system designs and
to model the systems in REVIT
• Ability to size and route ductwork, piping, plumbing and mechanical equipment
• Reviews project requirements in conjunction with department specific requirements and accurately determines
the contents of the required deliverables
• Reviews drawings for coordination and ensures quality standards are met
• May lead development activities relating to new/updated design applications or processes, create equipment
families, etc
• Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for
design development
• Communicates project design and graphic requirements, progress and schedules regularly to team
• May be responsible for support of project finalization including consolidation of record drawings or information
to take off as-built quantities
• May provide work direction and guidance to others
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
• Minimum of 7 years related work experience
• Strong HVAC and Plumbing design experience
• REVIT and CDC tool utilization
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven self-starter
• US citizen
