Nature of Work The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform entry-level survey engineering work in the field as part of a survey crew. As experience is acquired, the incumbent will perform with increasing independence. Responsibilities include working as the instrument person with the surveying crew or performing as a lead worker when the crew chief is absent. This classification differs from the EngineeringTechnician IIs in that the assignments are more complex and require a higher level of independent decision-making. Specific work assignments are received from the Professional Land Surveyor; however, the work is conducted under the direct supervision of the EngineeringTechnician II and is typically reviewed during progress and upon completion. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience working on basic surveying tasks such as measuring distances on ballfields, Right-of-Ways, playgrounds or other areas requiring staking out ground for accurate measurements.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered. Special Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's License and an insurable driving record to operate a city vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often in environments with loud noise and hazards related to traffic control and construction, including exposure to fast-moving vehicles. Employees may also encounter adverse weather conditions such as rain, extreme heat, or cold. The position may require irregular hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays, particularly during special events or emergencies. Education:
Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required, in some engineering fields, such as industrial engineering, chemical engineering, etc.
Experience
2 years of experience in Quality areas, with knowledge of quality inspection and quality rejections.
Skills
Basic management in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of lab equipment and methods, basic knowledge of ISO system
Languages: Bilingual (English and Spanish) required (oral and written fluency).

Within the production facility the environment is controlled. There are times that require inside and outside working so ups and downs in temperature are normal. Must follow all safety regulations at all facilities and wear all proper safety equipment. Steel toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and goggles are required in certain areas of the plant. The facility is also a BRC food packaging facility so all requirement of the BRC must be followed
Physical Requirements
Must be able to spend a considerable amount of time working on the production floor among a variety of different machines/chemical and physical laboratory. Work on feet for long periods of time. Some lifting required. Must be aware of your surroundings at all times. Must be willing to work in wet environments doing testing when necessary

CNC Technician position serves as an upper level of a CNC Operator. The CNC Operator is held to certain criteria as defined in the CNC Operator job description. The CNC Operator must meet these criteria along with the requirements listed below before he or she can be considered for the position of a CNC Technician.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Must be able to establish and set tool lengths, including oversize bars.
* Must be able to establish fixed probe TRAM surface.
* Must be able to calibrate spindle probe manually.
* Must understand the controls of all machines.
* Must have the ability to operate all machines.
* Must be able to use shop math to figure depth of cut.
* Must be able to make non-complex adjustments.
* Must be able to read and understand program lines.
* Must be able to make slight edits and tool adjustments.
* Must be able to look at the condition of the cut and know how to remedy any problems.
* Must be able to change tools and inserts.
* Must be able to setup secondary operations where applicable.

* Must have knowledge of simple trigonometric functions related to setup of parts and edits to programs.
* Maintain a working knowledge of feeds / speeds and the ability to determine chip loads.
* Must demonstrate good problem solving abilities related to the machines and parts utilized within the department.
* Must aide in the development of the CNC operators in relation to the requirements of their position.
* Must aide in the scheduling of the department.
* Must work closely with the departmental supervisor by communicating conditions of inventory, quality, machine performance, and maintenance issues.
* Must have a working knowledge of programming in machine language.
