BMET II is an experienced level position for over 2 years of practical experience and is usually a subject matter expert on a few medical technologies.
The BMET II is responsible for all scheduled maintenance and repair services assigned to them. Because of the close daily relationship and interaction with facility staff, BMET II's must have excellent organizational and customer service skills. Close supervision is provided to ensure service quality is maintained and that continue development of the BMET II's knowledge and skills are progressing.
Specific Responsibilities:
Must exhibit self motivation and personal relation skills.
While working with the managers, BMET II is responsible for communicating work status along with any problems, scheduling issues and/or incomplete service activities that require management attention.
Communicates with support staff pro-actively to assure customer satisfaction.
Must work independently to accomplish all assigned PMs while balancing repair calls as required as well as completion of all related paperwork.
Performs all assigned invasive repairs. Arranges for completion of repairs.
Works from drawings, technical manuals, and other specifications to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Requests all necessary and cost effective parts for repairs using the request form. Demonstrates good judgement on which repairs are attempted on-site.
Must exhibit good customer relations skills. A close daily relationship with the customer results on a high level of customer satisfaction and perception of value per dollar cost. Company image is perceived primarily through contact with the customer and on-site personnel.
Must work closely with managers to keep them informed of account status. This must include CM status and PM status, special interests, and customer concern/problems.
Learns new maintenance skills quickly, usually with demonstration.Builds on existing knowledge using multiple resources and passes on information to fellow technicians in the company.
Operates and maintains test equipment to high standards.
Skills Required:
Electronics, Mechanics, Proficiency with diagnostic tools, and customer service skills.
Education:
Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics related field, or military equivalence.

Job Summary
The electronic technician fabricates, installs, maintains, troubleshoots, modifies, programs, routs, removes, controls, and repairs Operational Television - Digital (OTV-D) communication systems.
This is a represented staff position with the IBEW Union.
Duties/Responsibilities
Install, remove, maintain, and replace serial digital closed-circuit surveillance television and webcams systems in support of spacecraft, payload, and security operations.
Install and maintain camera control systems for trim controls (pan, tilt, zoom, etc.)
Install and maintain mid-split level television and broadband communication distribution system, including Channel 60 and Operational Television (OTV) Webpage.
Fabricate, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair, test, align, calibrate, and operate; fiber optics, closed-circuit TV, head end and distribution, high definition and serial digital TV, switching and distribution, pressurized pan and tilts, pressurized lighting and cameras, and video surveillance systems.
Coordinate with other crafts to ensure job completeness and to assist with troubleshooting.
Read and interpret work orders, drawings, schematics, and notes.
Provide, update, and maintain all required documentation, reports, and logs, etc., manually or in electronic databases.
Make recommendations to improve work quality, efficiencies, and productivity.
Adhere to OSHA, NASA, Company, and customer safety requirements.
May assist in training others.
Requirements
Required Minimum Education:
Associate of Science or Technical Trade School* in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience may be substituted for Education: 1.5 years of related experience is equivalent to 1 year of formal education.
Required Years of Experience
Six (6) years of related experience or successful completion of a State or Military approved bona fide work-related apprenticeship program recognized by the US Department of Labor.

This position is "journey-level," meaning workers can start and finish a wide range of cable and wire activities independently.
Employees working at this level typically require an understanding of electrical theory, exercising independent judgment in performing circuit diagnostics analysis.

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
Must be able to pass an initial and random drug testing.
