Responsibilities of EngineeringTechnician:
Running prototypes for customers in various industries.
Developing new surface treatment depending on customer s demand (surface preparation, coating, nitriding…)
Operating PVD coating machines, polishing equipment, production lines, and more
Trouble shooting problems on process and/or equipment.
Creating procedures and Keeping Work instruction up to date with the support of the quality/engineers
Troubleshoot process issues and help create a preventative action plan for future processes with the support of quality.
Train shop staff in operating process equipment
Detect faulty and/or insufficient operations.
Modify equipment as required to improve reliability and maintainability
Aid with PVD characterization in the quality lab
Requirements of EngineeringTechnician:
Degree in technical/scientific programs preferred
Detail oriented
Good relationship with people
Good organization skill.
Ability to follow written or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and write equipment information sheets
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, and management.

Work Schedule:

Position Summary: The Intern, Sustaining Engineering will assist the team responsible for the design and change authority of firearm product currently being assembled at SIG SAUER. This intern is responsible for assisting in the support of the Assembly floor through problem solving as well as drawing changes and updates to current products.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support the assembly, manufacturing and quality organizations in accomplishment of company goals for quality, delivery, and cost.
• Make drawing and model changes to existing product using SOLIDWORKS and Agile PLM system per SIG drafting standards and standard work.
• Provide engineering and drawing support for non-R&D related product line extensions.
• Obtain working knowledge of company tools. Perform analyses and compile data for investigation by engineering personnel.
• Assist in the performance of internal engineering and design validation test programs, document results as required.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by department manager or other engineers.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS.
• Minimum completion of sophomore year.
• Firearms experience a plus.
• Machining experience a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
Working Conditions:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.

Builds PCB and system-level prototype units
