Resolve complex service problems. **This position is fully onsite 5 days a week in Wilkes-Barre, PA.** Duties and Responsibilities Design medium expansions to the distribution system to serve new customers and new load of existing customers. Meet with residential and small single/three phase business customers or their agent(s) to identify their service requirements, explain ED's requirements, and process for extending service, and authorize new service entrance locations. Produce the necessary design documents to accomplish the project, obtain the necessary right-of-way and permits, stake out the project in the field, deliver the design to C&M, and schedule the construction to be completed in time to meet the customer's needs. Identify and design medium distribution system projects to improve the safety, reliability, and adequacy of service to existing customers. This includes secondary modernization, re-sectionalizing, load balancing, transformer and recloser change out, and small distribution line conversion, relocations and end of life replacement projects. Produce the necessary design documents to accomplish these projects, obtain the required rights-of-way and permits, stake out the project in the field, and deliver the design to C&M in a timely manner Troubleshoot and resolve service problems such as fluctuating lights, stray voltage, and adequate voltage. Assist in the restoration of service due to storm damage or equipment failure. Provide coverage for other technicians during their absence. The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, calibrating and improving the performance of production equipment, plant facilities and testing equipment at the factory. The Electrical Technician supports daily productivity, quality and cost-effective operation to improve production efficiency and effectiveness. Essential Functions/Key Deliverables Troubleshoot and repair machine electrical and electronic related problems. Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. Document equipment in an electronic log. Perform functional & performance test on equipment a daily/monthly basis and ensure it is functioning properly. Operate a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions. Check and monitor equipment condition and perform corresponding actions or plans to prevent equipment breakdown. Maintain and repair motors and other electrical systems or units. Assist in calibration and setup of vision inspection systems, light and leak tester and other testing devices that directly affect quality and reliability of products. Description: DEFINITION The Quality Technician ensures that all products meet company and regulatory standards for safety, quality, and consistency.
