Job Description:
The Manufacturing Specialist will schedule, coordinate, and direct daily production activities within all areas of the SLM Filling and Filtration department. Will ensure resources are available to the technicians. In addition, will perform technician training, review documentation, and assist in representing the department in outside support department/customer concerns.
* Daily coordination of SLM Filling & Filtration technicians - schedules and assigns workload to assure maximum efficiency.
* Provides leadership in the department, both as a team leader, and as a spokesperson for outside department concerns.
* Responsible for training new technicians including cGMP compliance, safety, and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Provides manufacturing expertise - possesses a detailed knowledge of equipment and processes in multiple production areas.
* Participates in special projects, coordinates technician assignments in multiple areas of the department.
* Oversees area production documents, and performs record reviews.
* Assesses production activities, and provides recommendations for process improvement, corrective actions, and training needs.
* Optimize and define processes to maximize yield and reduce waste.
* Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to process problems in Manufacturing.
* Position requires the ability to maintain aseptic qualification and work inside a clean room environment.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors of Science in Biology, Chemistry or other scientific field desired.

This person will work closely with peer training specialists to ensure compliance with cGMPs prior to assigning personnel to areas. The CMO Area Specialist is the line SME and will have in depth knowledge of area SOPs to help guide personnel throughout the production day. They are also expected to analyze present and proposed manufacturing processes and technologies to determine improvements to processes, equipment, and automation to optimize manufacturing processes, meet present and new regulations, reduce waste, increase capacity, and develop and implement methods to increase output while complying with cGMP's.
* CMO Area Specialist I
* Provide effective day-to-day leadership and oversight for small groups ranging in size from 5 to 25 team members
* Schedule team members proficiently to achieve target turnaround times and meet production schedule targets
* Area SME for SOP updates and proposed equipment/process changes
* Partner with training peers to drive training of team members
* Spend 50% of their production day in the manufacturing areas driving the teams and building rapport
* Coordinate required activities with other departments to ensure completion of production schedules
* Participate in RCAs, CAPAs, Change Controls, and other process improvements
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent required
* Associate or Bachelor degree desired
* Lean principle certifications (6 Sigma or otherwise) desired
* OSHA 10 certification desired
* 2 years manufacturing experience required
* Leadership experience desired
* Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience desired
* Working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
* SAP experience required
* Trackwise and MasterControl experience required
* Respirator Clearance Required
