Electronics Maintenance Tech 1 is responsible for the repair, modification, and maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment and Electronic Warfare systems. You will be working on highly complex systems and equipment that are mission critical for the platforms that they operate on.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the repairs and manufacturing of electronic assemblies. Troubleshoot electronic assemblies to determine cause and remedy for malfunction applying basic knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks.
Test and accept assemblies per approved ATP procedures.
Perform visual and mechanical inspections.
Prepare Line Replaceable Units for testing. Perform touch ups.
Disassemble, repair, and re-assemble LRUs using electronic work instructions or applicable technical documents. Implement depot service bulletins.
Interpret drawings and parts lists.
Clean, inspect, and handle precision optics.
Maintain and repair shop equipment.
Utilize common electronic test equipment, lifts, test fixtures, and hand tools.
Perform basic soldering tasks.
Document maintenance actions in Ready Blue or applicable data systems. Submit replacement parts requests.
Support projects and meetings to improve repair processes. Provide input and support to production schedules and hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Daily work:
Maintain and troubleshoot software programs for process control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet and DeviceNet, motor control systems, servo drives, robotics, variable frequency drives, SCADA/MES, instrumentation, and electrical distribution systems.
Comply with arc flash, confined space, hot work, LOTO procedures and policies in accordance with NFPA 70 E qualified electrical worker program.
Communicate technical issues and project timelines with leadership, operations, and the maintenance team. Explain production impacts and work closely with operations and engineering to ensure a thorough understanding of impact to systems.
General:
Assist in developing specifications for instrumentation, controls, and electrical components. Read and interpret software control logic, electrical diagrams, manuals, and drawings.
Perform installation, maintenance, testing and calibration of general control systems, transmitters, gauges, control valves, transducers, probes, level switches, pressure switches, temperature switches, flowmeters, and associated equipment that send and receive data.
Attend technical conferences and seminars to maintain knowledge of control system processes and procedures.
Collaborate with Engineering/Maintenance to develop procedures and standards.
Help train and develop shift maintenance technicians on controls systems concepts and procedures.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing intermediate-to-advanced level electrical tasks with minimal supervision. Daily work:

Key Accountabilities
•Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Luminant personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions.•EIT (Engineer in Training) Program. Incumbents will rotate through the different areas of the plant to gain a working knowledge of those areas of the plant. Areas include, but are not limited to Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Control, Reliability and Chemical / Environmental•Will be assigned various engineering projects. •Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment•Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment• All other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
•Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.•Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in one of our desired engineering disciplines.•Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access desired•Proficient in AutoCAD or similar systems•Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired•Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date•Must be in good academic standing with your school
