Your Role With The Company:
This position reports directly to the Global Civil|Structural Engineering Manager.
Prepare civil | structural engineering deliverables in accordance with Company Management System, current legislation, project requirements and international standards. Check deliverables produced by others.
Manage the civil | structural scope of engineering work to eliminate cost / time growth. Identify any project scope growth and correctly document it and apply the project procedures for cost and time reimbursement. Commercial awareness of the impact of changes in scope, budget and schedule overruns. Identify project risk and address risk mitigation measures.
Identify, communicate, and implement cost reduction and schedule improvement opportunities.
Provide technical information in support of the project team. Attend technical design/project reviews to ensure compliance with customers' needs and QHSE requirements.
Ability to work as part of a group and on individual tasks within a larger team. Have the ability to lead large teams of multi-skilled engineers.
Identify and present training and learning opportunities (both individual and departmental) for consideration.
Understand customer needs and ensure that they are being satisfied. Develop good customer relationships (internal and external). Ensure active communication with all customers to promote clear understanding.
The role will interface with other internal engineering disciplines as well as external project team members such as the client, fabricator and site contractor representatives.
Background Profile:
Bachelor's Degree Civil or Structural Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering in Louisiana and/or Texas.
7+ years of experience engineering structures and foundations for industrial equipment and piping.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and engineering techniques.
Proficiency with tools like Navisworks, STAAD Pro, RAM Elements, MathCAD, SAP 2000, Tekla, and other Bentley software.
Creative problem definition and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and capable of delivering high-quality work with little/no supervision guidance.
Up-to date knowledge of civil and structural international standards applicable to petrochemical process plants. Familiarity and experience with the following codes or later versions: AISC 14th edition, ACI 318-08, ASCE 7-10, NFPA 101 2012, IBC 2012.
Working knowledge of foundations and structures for fixed and rotating equipment.
Work effectively with other disciplines to proactively communicate technical needs (loads, mounting geometry, etc.) and provide for their technical requirements (access, clearances, etc.)
Must be capable of working a part of a close-knit small core team as well as being self-reliant with the confidence to make decisions acting on their own initiative.
Organized with the ability to support multiple concurrent projects.
Site experience (e.g. construction, site troubleshooting, site survey, fabricator shop etc.).
Comfortable with occasional opportunities for international travel.

What You'll Be Doing

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Efficiently managing promotional projects minimizing the cost to Hargrove by working with the Resource Team Leaders to accurately estimate Professional Service man-hours to complete the project while achieving the objectives.
Successfully managing commercial contract(s) on one or more projects of various sizes, as required. Ensuring that invoices are paid in a timely manner, Project Change Notices are processed, monthly Office Earnings Report (OER) is reviewed in the time allotted, and the project(s) plan in Vision is current.
Maintaining control of the project by tracking and maintaining discipline performance budget progress, schedule commitments, and quality standards. Understanding and utilizing the project tools that are in place for project control.
Validating professional service and construction estimates at the beginning of a project, and then tracking changes as the project progresses.
Participating in development of all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
Familiarity with project scope, specifications, deliverables required by client, and design criteria upon assignment to a project and gaining Hargrove team alignment of schedule and budget in regard to deliverables required. Work with client team to define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders.
Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly by championing the Project Change Notice process and promoting a positive Change Management culture.
Leading the effort in building a productive Team both within Hargrove and with the client. Utilize rewards where applicable to recognize outstanding contributions.

**What You'll Be Doing**
**Job Summary:** Generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of engineers and designers when functioning as a lead engineer. As lead engineer, responsibilities include total delivery of the civil/structural deliverables and services on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations. Duties may include performing advanced engineering work serving as a technical specialist for complex engineering assignments. Work at this level requires extensive progressive experience in civil/structural engineering and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
**Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:**
+ Reviewing and approving all civil/structural deliverables.
+ Validating professional service and construction estimates at the beginning of a project, and then tracking changes as the project progresses.
+ Producing professional service estimates in accordance with the department standards for project deliverables, project studies and estimates, change notices and for the development of new work through proposal efforts.
+ Establishing the design criteria, incorporating client requirements, estimate and/or scope basis and design basis meeting applicable state, local and federal standards and codes. Ensuring that any requirements for permitting have been established and communicated to the project team.
+ Knowing project scope and deliverables. Initiating timely change notices when deviation is made from project scope, affecting schedule, deliverables or cost of the work.
+ Planning and organizing the work of your team. Communicating the plan to your team, the project leadership team and the client.
+ Maintaining control of the project by tracking and maintaining discipline performance budget progress, schedule commitments, and quality standards. Understanding and utilizing the project tools that are in place for project control.
+ Delegating work to engineers and designers in proportion to their technical skills and experience, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality.
+ Consulting with design leaders from other disciplines in proportion to their technical skills and experience, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality.
+ Producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-off suitable for the level of estimate being performed on a project.
+ Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks at hand.

+ Producing detail design calculations and sketches for materials of construction associated with the project. + Assisting the drafting group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems. Ensuring that sufficient sketches and details are provided for completion of engineering drawings.

+ Producing bid packages enabling civil/structural purchase inquiries to be issued for procurement of materials or subcontract pricing.
