Job Title: Teacher, English Language Center (Part Time)

Core content curriculum implementation and lesson delivery in the classroom, with an emphasis on learning the English language

Responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, physical and psychological growth.

Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.

Update and maintain all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations

Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintains discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals.Demonstrates gains in student performance.
Participates in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations Participates in department and school meetings, parent meetings Communicates necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs Keeps up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes

Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject area Degree or concentration in English as a Second Language instruction Minimum 2 years experience Strong classroom management skills required Highly organized; flexible in meeting the needs of boarding students and their families;Technologically savvy Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects Excellent presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
A superior work ethic
Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Master's degree in relevant subject area Bilingual
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required

Teacher is an essential member of a school site and will focus on English Language Development for our multilingual population. The ELD Teacher will drive the highest quality pedagogy for Multilingual Learners. What You Will Do:

• Establish a culture of high expectations that includes the shared belief that every student will attend college
• Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with California State Standards and Aspire Instructional Guidelines
• Assess students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs
• Communicate regularly with students and families and involve families as partners in their child's education
• Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practices throughout the school
• Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with lead teachers, principal, and instructional coaches

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid Teaching Credential w/ English Learner Authorization required
• 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred
• Knowledge of subject matter, including State Standards and subject-specific frameworks
• Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
• Ability and willingness to reflect and improve instructional practices
