Join the Canrig team in our newly established Midland, Texas facility! We're looking for a skilled Shop Mechanic with a passion for quality and precision to help grow our operation. This role is responsible for performing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on Canrig OEM drilling equipment in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering high-quality work while supporting the continued success of our customers and our shop's development.
2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation schedule providing work-life balance.
Paid travel and housing while on rotation.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and trade/technical school diploma or 2 years related experience in any one of the following our vocations: Mechanical, Electrical, Drilling Systems or Electronics.
Language Skills - Must be fluent in English, and possess the following abilities: to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, to write simple correspondence, to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills - Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Posses the ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills - General knowledge of word processing software and email messaging, and an all around general knowledge of computers operations.

Formal technical training or certification in mechanics, hydraulics, or industrial maintenance from a recognized trade school or technical college.
Previous experience with Canrig or Tesco equipment, including Top Drives, Iron Roughnecks, or Catwalks.

Perform mechanical repairs and overhauls on Canrig OEM equipment, including Top Drives, Iron Roughnecks, Catwalks, and ensuring all work meets OEM specifications and quality standards.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately and perform corrective repairs.
Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild components such as gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, motors, and control systems to restore full operational functionality.
Perform preventative maintenance and equipment evaluations to identify potential issues before failure, improving reliability and uptime.
Utilize hydraulic and electrical schematics to trace faults, install replacement parts, and verify system performance post-repair.
Document all repair activities including inspection reports, parts usage, labor hours, and test results in D365 and Visual.
Conduct operational testing and functional checks after repairs to confirm compliance with Canrig's performance standards and safety requirements.
Maintain shop tools, equipment, and test benches, ensuring calibration and readiness for all repair operations.
Collaborate closely with engineering, quality control, and operations teams to provide feedback on design or recurring field issues.
Adhere to all safety procedures and environmental regulations, including the proper handling of hydraulic fluids, oils, and cleaning materials.
Support training and mentoring of junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and promoting a strong team culture focused on continuous improvements
Assist with process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the shop to enhance turnaround times and overall productivity.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities for failed or returned components to prevent recurrence.

You inspect all fleet equipment for compliance and functionality, making sure that all moving parts are well-greased. So that operators, shippers, and receivers always have equipment at the ready that is roadworthy and in good working condition, you also help troubleshoot issues and participate in repairs. You accurately interpret repair manuals and work orders. On occasion, you need to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles. You keep your work environment clean and organized. Passionate about safety, you follow all company rules and regulations. You take pride in keeping our complex machinery running efficiently!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FLEET MECHANIC / OIL & LUBE TECHNICIAN
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Authorized to work in the US.
* Ability to service and diagnose brakes.
* Ability to service and diagnose diesel trucks (tractor/trailers) and power-train mechanics.
* Ability to use basic hand tools.

MOR PPM Inc. is looking for plant mechanics in Thompson, Ohio. The Plant Mechanic will perform as a skilled mechanic in the constant improvement of maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment. Mechanics will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Properly diagnose, replace or repair parts of equipment utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, removing and replacing components on equipment. Must be able to solve problems by studying drawings, and technical publications if necessary.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
Responsible for the Constant improvement, fabrication, and repair of Tire Manufacturing equipment.
**Qualifications**
+ Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers
+ Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings.
+ Have a valid Driver's License.
+ Experienced in industrial maintenance work.
+ Ability to work independently
+ Basic computer skills
+ Basic electrical skills
+ Have a complete set of a mechanics' tools appropriate for maintenance and repair (company will provide access to specialized tools)
+ Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all the above areas
**Preferred experience**
+ 3+ years PM and industrial or commercial experience
+ Technical school training or degree is a plus
+ Welding experience is a plus
**Physical Demands**

+ May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
+ Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above

● Performs preventive maintenance tasks; inspections, services, adjustments and identifies and addresses manufacturer or industry standard maintenance functions and/or defects such as machine lubrication, filter replacement, wear part replacement and other related preventative maintenance functions
● Performs general equipment repair and maintenance such as inspecting, repairing and or replacing VFDs, motors, gear boxes, belts, conveyors, bearings, screens, screen shafts and other critical equipment components and general wear parts
● Continually monitors equipment and makes necessary adjustment(s) to ensure proper operation
● Dismantles machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, lifts, hand tools, and any necessary power tools
● Ensures processing equipment is continuously compliant with manufacturer, industry and regulatory safely standards, policies, and are operating safely within facility standard operating procedures
● Maintains preventative maintenance schedules, logs, checklists and reports. Plans, schedules, conducts documents daily, monthly and annual facility preventative maintenance activities. Compiles and submits accurate repair and/or preventative maintenance reports for management
● Coordinates repairs with manufacturer or contractors as requested/require
● Coordinates, organizes and responsible for MRF equipment maintenance parts, inventory and tools. Cleans and organizes workshop and storage areas
● Cleans accumulated contaminants from screening/sorting/baling machinery. Cleans processing equipment and/or rolling stock as recommended/required. Uses high velocity air, vacuum or cleaners/detergents to remove dust, grime or other contaminants from equipment and structures
● Pumps liquid from pits and removes accumulated debris
● Operate a variety of hand and power tools; wrenches, ratchets, hammers, chisels, pry-bars, grinders, saws, drills, air impact wrench etc.
● Operate vehicles and motorized equipment; forklift, aerial lift, industrial vacuum, wheel tractors, light trucks, heavy duty trucks.
● Removes collected piles of debris from the facility both manually and with equipment.
● Perform duties of Processor II as assigned

Qualifications
● Must be able to use hand and power tools
