POSITION SUMMARY:
The Case Management Assistant (CMA) functions as a member of the case management team assigned to coordinate the care and services for assigned patients for an episode of illness or treatment in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, patient care team, and payors. The Case Management Assistant utilizes communication, organizational, and problem solving skills to implement the plans and interventions defined by the Case Manager, RN and Case Manager, Social Worker. The Case Management Assistant promotes and evaluates the effective utilization of resources using current knowledge, awareness of community services, and assuming a pivotal role with the patient care team to achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes. The CMA will maintain the UR and department phone line. The CMA will process UR information for the CM team and enter data into the current computer system.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Two years experience in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, or a medical setting OR an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a human service or health related field
Two years computer experience, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Desired:
Previous experience as a Unit Secretary, CNA, or Medical Assistant
Previous experience in a case or utilization management setting
Previous experience in medical back office, including insurance and billing
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of medical terminology. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet access and use. Skilled in the collection and analysis of data, and assessment of data integrity. Ability to learn state and federal funding sources and local community services requirements. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Demonstrates evidence of strong skills in confidentiality, integrity, creativity, and initiative. Demonstrates ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and handle confidential/sensitive situations and information with tact and sensitivity. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Journeyman Carpenter works under the direction of the Project Coordinator. The Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for most carpentry related projects and work requisitions assigned to him by the Project Coordinator. The special nature of this position may require working all shifts, any day of the week and holidays. The Maintenance Worker Carpenter supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Engineering Department.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Outpatient Phlebotomist is responsible for collection of blood samples with standard venipuncture and microtainer techniques for all age groups. Performs venous and capillary blood specimen collection using established safety practices in a skillful and accurate manner. Performs finger sticks and heel sticks. Properly collects blood cultures without contamination. Receives laboratory specimens and processes samples for Laboratory testing, performs clerical and client services functions in the Laboratory; draw station sites and travel to additional sites when needed. Utilizes the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to order tests, collect specimens, locates test results, specimen processing and handling functions to ensure timeliness and accuracy of workflow and monitor pending logs regularly to provide rapid turnaround time. Follows departmental and regulatory policies for proper patient and specimen identification. Rotates in different Outpatient Draw Stations.
An Outpatient phlebotomist must work well under pressure and be sensitive to the confidentiality of protected health information. The position requires exercise of judgment under general supervision. Build collaborative professional relationships to create quality healthcare. Work independently in a professional team-oriented environment. Possess office skills such as but not limited to data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner, answering the phone, transferring calls, faxing, printing, filing, cleaning, and organizing. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The Medical Scribe acts as the personal assistant to the physician performing all documentation functions in the EHR system in a complete and timely manner. The Scribe accompanies the Physician into the patient examination room and accurately transcribes the history, physical exam, documents the encounter and others present with the patient at the time. Documents all procedures performed and advice provided by the Physician.
Document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the physician.
Document the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the physician.
Document the correct time of patient care related activities, including physician to physician communication, family communication and re-examination of the patient.
Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescription as dictated by the Physician.
Transcribes patient orders including laboratory results, radiology tests, medications etc.
The Scribe maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum six (6) month's experience as a Medical Scribe, or equivalent training, experience, and education
Working knowledge of The EHR system and Outlook required
Ability to Read/Interpret documents, write reports/correspondence, speak concisely and clearly.
Ability to Listen effectively and interface with the Public required
Fast, accurate typing, transcription skills, filing, and phone skills required

Responsibilities:
Inpatient
Patient rounds
Collaboration and communication with Fellow on service as well as nursing staff to perform patient care
Set up follow up for patients upon discharge or post operatively
Outpatient
See clinic patients with 2 experienced HPB Surgeons
Assist with coordinating labs, surveillance imaging, follow ups
High risk and early detection Pancreatic cyst clinic
Patient Education
Returning patient phone calls regarding questions, care plan, follow up
Operating Room presence
Assist in cases, being mindful of fellow learning and involvement
Experience:
Completion of a Physician Assistant program from an ACGME accredited program in surgery is required
Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical PA specializing within treating liver, bile duct and pancreatic cancer is highly preferred
Surgical experience as a PA required
Must have or be eligible for California State Physician Assistant licensure
Experience working in the Operating Room as a First Assist is required
Well versed in the surgical and medical management of benign and malignant conditions in the liver, pancreas, bile duct and duodenum
A passion for providing excellent clinical care and excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative / team-oriented environment are a must.
Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Hoag Hospital
