* This position includes a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus, as well as other "location" incentives*
The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating plants, compressors and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Operate natural gas plant and pipeline equipment including, but not limited to: amine treating plants, chilled water gas conditioning skids, reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, gas measurement equipment, etc.
* Operate plant equipment & system.
* Start-up/Shutdown of plant equipment.
* Adjust controls to operate equipment in the recommended or prescribed operating ranges.
* Visually inspect equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
* De-pressure equipment and pipelines.
* Operate valves.
* Monitor plant and pipeline operations and respond to emergency or upset conditions.
* Operate under Process Safety Management (PSM) as required.
* Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, public and environment at all times.
* Monitor gas gathering system through SCADA and make calls to alert customers of situations that could affect gas deliveries.
* Ensure regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitored.
* Read, monitor and record various operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, hours of operations, fuel consumed, water levels, etc.
* Perform minor maintenance on equipment including, but not limited to: reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, etc.
* Monitor, remove and replace filters, oil, chemicals, other lubricating fluids, gaskets, and valves as needed.
* Change gauges.
* Maintain sites in a clean condition including picking up/taking out trash, control weeds and grassy areas, minor painting, etc.
* Clean out site glasses as necessary.
* Change out suction/discharge valves on natural gas compressors, light bulbs, and fuses.
* Improve upon meeting the needs and demands of customers.
* Maintain a near perfect driving record.
* Direct and supervise contract labor involved in plant maintenance activities.
* Collaborate with direct supervisor on new and improved ideas associated with an evolving plant and pipeline system.
* Work a rotating 12 hour shift schedule.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
* A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
* Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field is preferred.
* A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
* May be required to participate in the Respiratory Protection Program and wear respirator to perform tasks
* Knowledge of the operation, control and general design of various kinds of systems typically present in a processing or fractionation plant is required.
* The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
* Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.

Summary:
This position is responsible for the operation of compressors, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines and other related liquid processing equipment. This position ensures the cost effective and efficient operation of liquid processing and treating units and associated equipment within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

Polar Tankers Overview
Polar Tankers, a wholly owned subsidiary of ConocoPhillips, provides marine transportation for North Slope production, using five company-owned, double-hulled tankers in addition to chartering third-party vessels as necessary. The tankers deliver oil from Valdez, Alaska, to refineries primarily on the West Coast of the United States. If you are selected as the Utility Person, you will be assigned to work in the Deck, Engine and Steward Department, as needed. Utility Person is responsible for various duties as assigned by the Chief Mate, First Engineer, or Steward, and is required to participate in all drills and emergencies, and assists with the enforcement of rules, regulations, and pollution prevention.

When assigned to the engine department, under direction of the First Assistant Engineer, responsibilities may include:
Cleans decks and ladder ways
Replenishes materials and rag bins, empties trash, organizes tools and stores, paints, and assists with maintenance
Familiar with engine room spaces to avoid hazards and take the necessary action in time of emergency
Learns the plant and machinery operation
Participates in maintenance and upkeep
When assigned to the deck department, under the direction of the Chief Mate, responsibilities may include:
Performs sanitation duties in the house, passage spaces, common areas, and heads
Assists with mooring lines when docking and undocking, and with securing the deck for sea
Assists with cargo operations
Assists the deck department in the maintenance and upkeep of the areas and equipment assigned to the deck department
Performs the duties of lookout when arriving or departing a port, or whenever required by the Master
Working hours vary depending on departmental needs, but typically 12-hour days which includes 4-hours of overtime

* Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to efficiently achieve desired operating results and ensure proper operation of equipment under current process conditions such as Start/Stop/Rate adjustment of equipment
* Demonstrated understanding in the maintenance and compliance of plant operations in alignment with partnership and environmental standards (PSM-SPCC-TNRCC) including the creation and maintenance of required reporting and readings
* Maintain and adhere to required trainings, policies, and procedures
* Where applicable, the selected candidate will be required to pass all PSM-required operator certifications
* Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
* Communicate with partnership control centers, business groups, and other operating groups as necessary
* Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
* May perform lab tests for quality assurance, diagnose mechanical problems, complete minor repairs as needed, assist other technical staff and any other tasks as assigned or required
* May monitor field compressor status through the use of SCADA

Required Education:
* High school diploma or GED
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
* Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
* Level B requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
* Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
Required Qualifications:
* Must maintain valid driver's license in state of residency
* Excellent organizational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group environment
* Demonstrated self- starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
* Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, shift rotations, and perform call outs
* Must be able to react to high stress/emergency situations in a deliberate, thoughtful, and timely manner
Preferred Qualifications:
* Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and perform operation and maintenance tasks associated with various types of facilities and equipment
* Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation.
* HIMI software operations experience
