Entrepreneurs' Organization company history timeline

1987

In 1987, 22 young entrepreneurs created an organization and what was then called The Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO) expanded throughout the United States and Canada.

1988

Andrew Sherman of Jones Day becomes YEO®'s legal counsel; incorporation papers are filed in the spring of 1988

1989

YEO® is officially incorporated in November 1989

1996

In 1996, YEO helped create the World Entrepreneurs’ Organization (WEO), which served as an alumni organization for YEO members who, after the age of 40, wanted to continue their involvement in an entrepreneurial membership organization.

1997

In 1997, the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) was launched.

1999

In 1999, the Kauffman Foundation joined the Coleman Foundation as a key supporter of CEO. With Kauffman’s support, CEO was able to hire full-time staff, and more and more CEO chapters began appearing on campuses.

2005

In 2005, YEO and WEO merged to form the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) as it is known today.
