A Tax Intern, Business Incentives Group, helps achieve BDO's core purpose-helping people thrive every day-by helping companies and individuals identify and claim government incentives designed to promote innovation, economic growth, and job creation in the U.S. like the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit.

An STS BIG Intern will have the opportunity and charge to innovate and collaborate with BDO professionals in all of our business lines as well as with our clients' innovation leaders, in tax, accounting, finance, and also in their engineering, software, manufacturing, scientific, medical, and other R&D-related departments.
STS BIG's short-term mission is to help our clients as efficiently and effectively as possible to identify, document, and support on examination by tax authorities the various incentives to which they are legally entitled. Our longer-term goal is to develop an understanding of them as people and of all aspects of their business so that we are well positioned as their trusted advisors, as professionals who understand both their business operations and business drivers as well as how BDO can help them realize their goals.
In pursuing this mission, we are also seeking to help our STS BIG Interns gain first-hand experience in becoming trusted advisors, ensuring they have a clear sense of the importance and responsibilities of such a role, as well as the training and opportunities to fill it.
Toward that end, STS BIG Interns pursue opportunities which enable them to gain and improve their skills in every aspect of professional service, including technical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management, practice management, and business development.
Job Duties:
Assists in the execution of multiple client engagements
Collaborates with other STS BIG professionals in all aspects of our business, e.g., innovating, developing and implementing better strategies and processes for our services, marketing, etc.
Establishes effective working relationships directly with STS BIG professionals and other BDO employees
Contributes to the development of your own technical acumen and STS BIG's market prominence
Assists in business development research and identification of opportunities for new and existing clients
Contributes to, supports, and enhances the culture of STS BIG, our local offices, and BDO as a globally leading professional services firm

The US Legal Department of CIBC is seeking a law student to serve as a Legal Intern for Summer 2026. The intern will participate in a variety of projects and will gain valuable exposure to the workings of an in-house legal department at a growing US financial institution that is affiliated with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, one of Canada's largest banks.

What You'll Bring:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a graduation date of June 2028 or earlier
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Completion of foundational accounting and finance coursework.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Impact You'll Make:
As an Accounting Intern, you will support the US Markets accounting team in core ledger activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting. Your contributions will help ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Assist with monthly accounting close activities.
Prepare account reconciliations and perform basic balance sheet analysis.
Support the development of schedules and reports for internal and external reporting.
Help validate and review data within accounting systems.
Collaborate with team members on special projects as assigned.
The pay range for this role is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour. *The pay range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. What You'll Bring:
This internship will include training in the financial service industry, technical skills like AWS, and utilizing desktop research for consultative services. Candidates must have a passion for financial services and will utilize AWS technical skills to complete their internship. No prior technical skills required; on-job training included.

Impact You'll Make:
This role will act as a key Analyst of the Argus North America team and is responsible for supporting the development of outputs using the Argus Consortia dataset. This role will partner and collaborate with other associates in the Argus US team to support the relationships with key clients.
* Leverage extensive datasets and various statistical software applications to develop and execute strategic quantitative analysis
* Investigate and report on complex data interactions to help identify and address our clients' key strategic business opportunities
* Create statistical data models to be used as tools in the development of client portfolio strategies
* Analyze and interpret results of reports and models created to translate data into and create comprehensive, actionable solutions for our clients
* Effectively and accurately communicate analytical results and strategic implications within the context of a broader business setting
