The Environmental Field Response Group within the Environmental Affairs Division operates in CT MA and NH, primarily providing 24/7 on-call readiness for response to sudden oil and hazardous material (OHM) release incidents as well as spill prevention planning. The Senior Environmental Coordinator shall serve in a leadership role to assist in staff training, regulatory agency interface, and emergency response activity coordination. In addition, individual will take an active role in cross functional leadership, including, but not limited to: Procurement in Pollution Vendor and Environmental Consultant RFP(s) and selection, attending and presenting at Electric Operations & Gas Operations (CT/MA) Work Plan Meetings, and supporting other groups on initiatives. Individual shall also participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for emergency Oil and Hazardous Material spill response and ensure the preparation and maintenance of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans at regulated company facilities.

Essential Functions
Serves in a leadership role to assist in staff training, regulatory agency interface, and emergency response activity coordination.Implements and oversees the organizations environmental policies regarding emergency OHM spill response and spill prevention planning.Coordinates cross-functional support to other Environmental Affairs Groups and Operations.Serves as a mentor to subordinate staff.Oversees implementation of changes to procedures and processes to minimize hazards and prevent mishaps.Serves as Company lead with federal, state and local environmental agencies for emergency OHM spill response.Provides training to Company employees and contractors to ensure they understand environmental compliance requirements and obligations.Oversees vendors performing environmental work.Maintains current working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental laws, regulations, policies and by-laws and in-depth knowledge in specific area(s) of environmental regulation.Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed federal, state and local environmental laws, regulations, policies and by-laws to assess impacts on the Corporation.Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.

Qualification
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Requires general understanding of utility industry, and ability to interact persuasively with all levels of the Company and external environmental agencies. Also requires strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).
Education:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Environmental, Applied Science, Engineering or related discipline.
Experience:
Eight (8) years in emergency OHM response regulated under State and Federal waste site cleanup and hazardous waste regulations, and preparation of SPCC Plans. Requires experience in managing or conducting environmental projects under Federal Permitting Programs regulated under, or by, the Clean Water Act (e.g., storm water, NPDES and SPCC Compliance), RCRA/CERCLA (solid and hazardous waste, spills, sites), and State Environmental Agencies.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver's license a must. Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification as per 29 CFR 1910.120 and State Environmental License as applicable is a plus.

Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening for an Environmental Coordinator in northern California. This is a field-based position, reporting to the El Dorado Hills office. The Environmental Department specializes in environmental permitting and compliance management as it relates to the electrical utility construction industry. Our team brings expertise to construction projects in the areas of permitting, onsite inspection and monitoring, erosion and sediment control implementation, mitigation planning, restoration and revegetation, and environmental training.

The successful candidate will work on a variety of field projects, including managing environmental compliance on construction projects. This position will include a significant portion of the time spent in the field at various job sites across northern California. Candidate must work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Excellent written and verbal communication, client interaction and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducting field monitoring and inspecting for environmental compliance (hydrocarbon spills, erosion and sediment control, sensitive resource mitigation).
• Developing plans to meet mitigation requirements on a given project.
• Implementing erosion and stormwater controls at construction sites.
• Availability to travel as needed and spend extended periods of time at project locations distant from the El Dorado Hills office.
• Interaction and effective communication with all levels of Project Management staff, field superintendents, clients, and vendors.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Biology, or another related field preferred.
• Work experience in a related/relevant field (stormwater, geology, hydrology, biology, etc.).

At the direction of the USA team, the environmental coordinator shall coordinate, implement, and sustain environmental compliance activities at assigned US operations; ensure compliance with all related federal, state, and local regulations; and create and maintain an environmentally compliant workplace.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Coordinate, implement and sustain environmental functions for assigned USA operational sites.

Monitor compliance with environmental procedures and develop/implement programs and procedures to ensure compliance. Collaborate with managers to identify potential environmental issues.

Educate team members on environmental procedures and programs and perform trainings as required for each supported site.

Effectively facilitate root cause analysis investigations relating to environmental incidents and report results of investigations. Implement corrective actions as directed/applicable.

Work with waste contractors and labs as needed to characterize waste. Conduct weekly inspections to ensure labeling, storage, and manifesting are properly managed. Prepare and submit annual reports, exception reports, quarterly taxes, etc.

Monitor site water discharges daily and report exceedances. Prepare and submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual sanitary water reports. Work with subcontractor and lab to coordinate semi-annual and annual water sampling.
