Job Summary
Battelle's Cyber Trust and Analytics division is seeking an Experimental Quantum Scientist/Researcher to work in our Columbus, Ohio location.
Battelle has been trusted by elite government clients to solve some of the world's hardest security problems. We work in small agile teams to push the bounds of computing technology. Our high-powered labs include specialized software and hardware, so our engineers have everything they need to invent new Cyber solutions. Responsibilities
Propose and lead independent research projects focusing on novel quantum devices, materials, hardware, controls, or characterization techniques applied to cyber and semiconductor problems.
Support the latest team's research and development programs
Work closely with cyber security experts and engineers to develop effective data solutions

Key Qualifications
PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Have experience with superconducting, semiconducting, or related quantum technologies.
Have research, accomplishments, and publications in the field of quantum, quantum information science, solid state physics, or closely related field.
Demonstrated experience developing in Python, C/C++, R, Matlab, Fortran, Verilog, VHDL or another computational language.
Experience solving complex problems.
Excitement about learning new technical subject areas and curiosity about cyber security problems.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

Job Summary
The Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Data Scientist to join our team in support of our government customer, U.S. Special Operations Command. This position will play a critical role in advancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, which is dedicated to optimizing and sustaining the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF). Through integrated and holistic human performance initiatives, POTFF strengthens both the Forces and their families, ensuring comprehensive support for those who serve. As a Data Scientist, you will contribute to impactful research and analytics that drive evidence-based decision-making and enhance the effectiveness of these vital programs. This position is responsible for overseeing and analyzing data to support program objectives. The Data Scientist will provide expertise in research and evaluation, collaborating with staff and stakeholders, and contributing to the development of effective data collection and analysis strategies. Additionally, the role includes preparing reports and presentations to communicate important insights and utilizing appropriate systems to manage and interpret data.
Responsibilities
Enter, clean, and perform advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis on program-related data
Provide subject matter expertise in program evaluation, research methodologies, and data analysis
Collaborate with POTFF program staff and the Government's biostatistician to ensure effective data management and analysis
Consult with and assist supported units and POTFF staff to identify opportunities and methods for capturing relevant program data
Prepare clear and accurate reports and presentations to communicate data trends and analytical findings
Access and utilize Government systems to enter, manage, and analyze data in support of program objectives
Key Qualifications
Master's or doctoral degree in quantitative science, social science, or a related discipline
Advanced proficiency with statistical software applications, e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, demonstrated through employment history and scientific publications
At least three years of research experience in academic, social services, government, healthcare, or laboratory settings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Access
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to effectively communicate orally and written
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in Dr. Jingwei Duan's laboratory within the Department of Radiation Physics, Division of Radiation Oncology, focusing on Medical Physics, Imaging Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a collaborative team of scientists and physicians. As part of the team, the fellow will present findings at project meetings and national/international conferences and publish in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
Our program integrates quantitative imaging, automation, and rigorous safety science to enhance care quality and outcomes. Our laboratory is engaged in several exciting projects, including:
* Designing and translating AI-driven methods for medical image registration, synthetic imaging, segmentation, and treatment planning to advance radiotherapy.
* Investigating breakthrough AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, generative AI) to evaluate their potential in reducing clinician burden and improving patient safety across radiation-oncology workflows.
* Developing automated QA/QC methodologies for the safe implementation and monitoring of AI systems in radiation therapy.
* Creating decision-support systems for online adaptive radiotherapy (oART) on MR-linacs and CT/CBCT-linacs.
Additionally, the candidate will have opportunities to contribute to other high-impact clinical projects, such as Spatially Fractionated Radiotherapy (SFRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT), and Brachytherapy. Successful candidates are also eligible to enroll in our CAMPEP-accredited didactic medical physics certificate program, which covers the essential medical physics courses for individuals to enter the medical physics residency to become a professional medical physicist in the US.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The successful candidate will gain experience with state-of-the-art AI methods and practical AI safety frameworks specific to radiation oncology; QA/QC tool development for AI systems; and decision-support strategies for offline/online adaptive treatment. The fellow will also gain hands-on exposure to radiation physics and radiotherapy workflows, spanning simulation, contouring, treatment planning, QA, and treatment delivery.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related discipline. Strong programming skills are essential. Prior experience with programming (MATLAB, Python, C/C++) and image processing is preferred. Familiarity with machine/deep learning and high-performance computing is a plus but not required. A background in medical physics is NOT required. The candidate should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Assisting in the review ISO, AAIS and other bureau-driven circulars and products. Referring recommended form and product changes to Management to align with AF Group's strategic direction across Specialty Lines organizations.
5. Product Development and Product Compliance
