Where the Chemistry Happens...
This position reports into the Energy and Verbund Management Expertise organization for North America. This candidate will provide regional leadership for operational excellence, reliability across value chains, ensure energy sustainability and efficiency, and develop site infrastructure, assets and capabilities across North America to help the region reach its growth and profitability targets. Additionally, this position will support the Regional Business Units' (RBU) in providing transparency and improvements to North American infrastructure, cost competitiveness, energy optimization, carbon footprint of products, and site models.
- Partnering with various BASF sites by helping facilitate and develop models that determine the optimum short- and long-term use of raw materials, power, and utilities.
- Analyze economic and energy data from BASF internal systems including PIMS, EDL, and SAP PIMS, operations database EDL, and SAP.
- Partner with BASF's automation group to identify and develop the tools necessary to optimize energy usage across BASF sites in North America.
- Create accurate and validated models simulating energy demand and product production.
- Develop, maintain, and utilize a multi-business Simulator/Optimizer for BASF's Geismar and Freeport sites that interface with internal BASF systems, which simulates the key raw materials and utilities the businesses utilize.
- Collaborate with the BASF users of the Verbund models to encourage data driven decisions involving utilities and raw materials.
- Facilitate the strategic development and implementation aspects of collecting, cleansing, storing, analyzing, and reporting of operational data.
- Evaluation of data analytics software that serves these insights quickly and accurately to enrich and analyze plant data.
- Facilitate discussion across sites and associated BUs for continuous data collection, preparation, analysis, and reporting.
- Understand actual performance, correct deviations, and predict scenarios to promote more effective business continuity.
