The QTS Critical Environment Skills Acceleration Program (CESAP) is designed to prepare high potential operating managers to progress into open roles within the QTS Facilities Leadership Organization. CESAP is approximately a twelve to eighteen-month program. Participants will be assigned to a data center and will be tasked with completing defined learning paths.

CESAP Participants will also confer with professional operations subject matter experts and a mentor to develop necessary skills to identify and resolve operational issues and to develop solid understanding of the data center industry, QTS product offerings, and the QTS operating model to include facilities, mechanical, electrical and data center operations infrastructure. This role supports a 7X24X365 data center environment.

Upon successful completion of CESAP, QTS leadership will identify a permanent role within the Facilities organization that matches the participant's interests, geography and skill set. Permanent placement is subject to position availability and may require relocation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties as assigned.

Complete defined learning paths, actively participate in assigned learning activities, and actively participate in site activities to develop the necessary skills and knowledge and successfully complete the following:

* Utilize comparative evaluations between systems performance and key indicators to monitor effectiveness of operational programs through benchmarking and the utilization of best practices.
* Establish and implement facility policies, procedures and organizational structure within the boundaries established by senior management and corporate policy while ensuring no contradiction in federal, state and local operating regulations or laws.
* Develop and maintain efficient maintenance operations utilizing maintenance governance, standards utilizing in-house staffing and vendor support to provide 100% up-time of all mechanical, life safety, monitoring and control systems. This includes but is not limited to developing and coordinating maintenance agreements, maintenance procedures, testing procedures, inspections, reporting, accounting practices and reporting.
* Development of emergency response planning and response management and reporting of incident and emergency situations for all mechanical, associated controls and plumbing systems.
* Learn how to develop, direct and monitor short-term and long-range business plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives of the company that establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and an environmentally friendly community partner.
* Review and oversee operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
* Learn how to ensure the pro-active delivery of corporate services support, power services, FTE headcount projections, planning, budgeting, capital projects, maintenance, and business continuity/disaster recovery.
* Learn how to ensure the facilities' mechanical, controls, monitoring, and fire-life safety systems compliance with all governmental regulatory operating guidelines.
* Develop a professional working knowledge of critical mechanical and electrical systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor of Science degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
* Three or more years of direct experience with STEM related activities in a technical or critical environment (data center, nuclear power, hospital, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial/commercial field engineering).
* Three or more years direct or indirect people leadership experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Advanced degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
* Five or more years of direct experience with STEM related activities in a technical or critical environment (data center, nuclear power, hospital, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial/commercial field engineering).

**Key Roles & Responsibilities**

The successful candidate(s) will become part of an interdisciplinary team conducting novel and required research in support of national-level environmental programs. The analyst will support updating various environmental regulations, draft toxicology profiles, perform chemical risk assessments, exposure assessment/modeling, and methods development in these areas

The successful candidate will conduct research, literature reviews, including systematic reviews, synthesize of toxicological and environmental/occupational epidemiology studies into reports, and conduct statistical and other quantitative analyses including dose-response modeling to support the above-mentioned projects. The analyst will also contribute to the preparation of reports, memos, papers, web sites, presentations, and other materials for use by senior environmental managers and release to the public.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ BA/BS (3 - 5) OR MA/MBA (Entry Level) years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Masters of Public Health (MPH) OR a Masters of Science (MS) AND at least 2 years of experience in environmental health, risk assessment and/or toxicology

+ The preferred candidate will have an outstanding academic record and work experience in the field.

+ Coursework in toxicology, risk assessment, quantitative methods, epidemiology, biology, physiology, physical and/or environmental sciences is desirable.

WSP is currently initiating a search for an **Environmental Compliance Specialist/Environmental Scientist** for our **Herndon, VA** office. The following locations will also be considered: **Baltimore, MD; Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL; Orlando, FL; and Mooresville, NC** . **Your Impact**

+ Conduct field assignments, such as performing environmental compliance audits, Phase 1 environmental site assessments, and environmental risk assessments.

+ Provide environmental compliance program support for industrial clients including developing procedures and permits, preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports, and preparing and delivering environmental training programs.

+ Prepare written and verbal technical reports, including documentation of audits and field investigations, regulatory research, evaluation of findings, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.

+ Managing tasks and projects according to client-approved scopes of work, and delivering high quality reports on time and within budget

+ Collect and document field data and observations in a clear and organized manner utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and workspace monitoring equipment.

+ Assist in managing and developing client relationships.

+ Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting.

+ Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, field/work site notes, and software.

+ Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, laboratory documentation, written procedures, monitoring systems, and logbooks.

+ Maintain and calibrate equipment and tools, troubleshooting and reporting on malfunctions, and performing inventory control activities.

+ Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of environmental data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for low to mid-level threat mitigation and permitting activities projects to minimize impacts to the health of the environment and the population.

+ Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.

+ Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

**Who You Are**

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Engineering, Earth Science or a related discipline.

+ 3 to 5 years of experience working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

+ Experience with evaluating/maintaining environmental regulatory compliance in industrial settings.

+ Valid US driver's license.

+ Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. Participation in an OSHA-mandated medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites.

+ Applicants must be able to wear a full-face respirator.

+ Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities.

+ This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

+ Travel up to 50% of the time. Must be willing to make trips on short notice, including to local sites, and travel via air or land. Overnight travel is required.

+ Self-sufficient, self-motivated and ability to work under pressure of deadlines is essential.

+ Interest and proficiency in investigative work, with high attention to detail is critical to this position.

+ Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master's Degree is preferred.

+ Certified Professional Environmental Auditor, Environmental Professional, Certified Hazardous Material Manager, and/or other related environmental certifications.

+ Experience conducting Phase I environmental site assessments following ASTM International Standard E 1527-13.

+ Experience conducting environmental due diligence assessments of roadway corridors.

+ Experience in air permitting and asbestos management.

Primary Responsibilities Evaluate FAA airspace procedural design changes to identify environmental impacts to environmental justice, politically, culturally and noise sensitive areas and historical places based on flight paths and altitudes as required by FAA Orders 1050.lF Environmental Impacts: Policies and Procedures and 7400.2 Procedures for Handling Airspace Matters. Conduct environmental modeling for FAA airspace actions subject to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and prepare documents such as Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements for the proposed airspace actions. Evaluate environmental impact(s) associated with airspace procedure changes associated with the decommissioning of FAA navigational aids as part of the FAA Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range (VOR) Minimum Operations Network (MON) program Basic Qualifications: Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, high-level capacity to multi-task, and strong organizational skills.
