Remedy Engineer
to join our team.


Duties / Responsibilities


Provide operations support; maintenance of applications, capacity monitoring on existing servers, performance tuning, and writing scripts Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality; design and implement scalable, lasting solutions Work closely with Director of OSS Ticketing Solutions, Development Manager, development teams, and other interfacing groups to set strategies and provide smooth execution of projects Train and mentor Engineers on the team Update job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Provide suggestions and solutions for server applications Support of 24x7 operations team by accepting periodic on call rotation assignments Execution of software deployment into production systems during maintenance windows, as assigned



Required Qualifications


Bachelor’ s degree in computer science from an accredited college or university; or related field and/or equivalent work experience 3+ years of application development experience 3+ years of enterprise application support in a Linux environment, including strong troubleshooting and root cause investigation capabilities 3+ years of experience with BMC Remedy application structure in a Linux environment Experience working with third-party APIs and integrations; Netcool, Splunk, Remedy, etc. Experience supporting users by developing documentation and assistance tools Experience recommending system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives Experience integrating applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers. Strong understanding of IP networking, database support systems in a variety of database languages, including performance tuning techniques Strong understanding of enterprise application integration capabilities, data sources, and OSS application life-cycle



Preferred Qualifications


2 years of performing within a technical leadership capacity 5 years of development operations experience within an MSO or telecom environment At least 3 of the following certifications (or equivalent): ITIL Version 2 Practitioner Certification, Linux System Administrator, Perl or preferred scripting language Advanced Java Apache Tomcat 8.x or higher certification Any course from Remedy Service Management Suite Courses

Barr is seeking an environmental engineer licensed in the state of California to undertake challenging and progressive work on projects related to the investigation, evaluation, and remediation of contaminated sites. This position can be served from any of Barr's U.S. locations; however, the preference is for candidate to be located in California or the intermountain west.

Work may include managing multidisciplinary teams; preparing technical work plans and reports; investigating contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, and vapor intrusion; conducting remediation technology evaluations and feasibility studies; developing site management strategies, remedial design, and response action plans; and coordinating site remediation activities. Tasks will include development of proposals, scopes of work, and budgets; communications, meetings, and negotiations with clients and regulatory agency personnel; and overall project management. Responsibilities may also involve mentoring staff, building client relationships, and business development.

Other duties may include periodic, on-site investigations of contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas; aquifer test performance and analysis; and construction observation.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, geological, or chemical engineering; hydrogeology; or related disciplines 5 or more years of relevant work experience Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulators, and clients Strong technical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness Strong computer skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets Project management and leadership experience with complex projects A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs (including up to 10% travel; project needs will vary seasonally and over time) Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship Acceptable driving record

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000-$100,000/year . Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. ERM is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Environmental Remediation Engineer to join our growing team in Philadelphia, PA (office in Malvern, PA). Working under the direction of professional engineers, project managers, and partners, you will work on interesting site investigation and remediation projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic area and other US and global locations. Projects will include design and construction-related tasks associated with groundwater, sediment, soil, and vapor remediation - using in-situ and ex-situ remediation and treatment technologies - at active and inactive sites. You may also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, covering the full spectrum of ERM's services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist clients in developing and implementing contaminated site management strategies.
* Design and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated soil and groundwater, using innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems.
* Evaluate various remedial technologies for applicability at specific sites.
* Assist in the design of remediation construction projects, including tasks such as preparation of design calculations and drawings, remediation/construction bid packages, engineering cost estimates, technical specifications, and support plans.
* Provide field support as needed for design parameter development and during construction for oversight and Construction Quality Assurance purposes.
* Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with clients and identified leads.
* Manage projects and tasks, appropriately delegate assignments to project teams, and mentor junior staff.
* Develop and implement design-related field investigations.
* Provide office and field oversight of contractors, subcontractors, and construction inspectors and direct the progress of work.
* Review contractor submittals including but not limited to:
* Requests for information (RFIs)
* Contract clarifications
* Contract-required submittals
* Change order requests
* Documents related to compliance with project specifications

* Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
* Communicate with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agents, and site contacts.
* Interact with ERM offices worldwide to generate proposals and coordinate projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental, Chemical, or Geological Engineering. Masters preferred.
* 4 to 10 years of relevant experience with complex site investigation/remediation projects under a variety of local, state, and federal regulatory structures (e.g., CERCLA).
* Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training preferred.
* Understanding of environmental regulatory processes (federal and state levels), a broad range of in-situ and ex-situ remedial technologies, and remediation design and construction.
* Experience performing design calculations and preparing design reports, construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
* Knowledge about and ability to manage environmental remediation construction projects.
* Experience with the investigation/remediation of contaminated sites and management of the preparation of work plans, field efforts, and report writing.
* Experience preparing detailed technical and environmental reports.
* Experience with AutoCAD.
* Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Detail-oriented, thorough, and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
* Ability and willingness to travel.
* Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
* Local candidates preferred.
