We have an immediate opening for a Building Information Modeling Specialist in the Herndon, VA area This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. As a Lifecycle BIM Specialist, you will produce and maintain Lifecycle sets for ACS and MEP drawing sets for our fleet of Data Centers. You will provide support to the Fleet Remediation Engineering team through preparation of computer generated ACS/MEP Lifecycle drawing sets ensuring that all as-built drawings are accurately updated. Your experience in Revit and ACAD will be utilized to update and create new BIM models from as-built documentation.
Your experience in Architectural, Structural, & Civil drawings is a plus but you will influence design & record documents for all Commercial/industrial Building Systems centering on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing) for Air Handling Units, Cooling towers, Chillers, Controls, Fire Detection/Suppression, Plumbing & Piping, P&ID, elements of high, medium and low voltage transmission fundamentals, industrial electrical distribution, wire types and sizes, conduit types & configurations for riser and underground applications, as well as fiber optic and copper data/voice media types, details, elevations, & schedules.
You will help develop tools and procedures for standards compliance to streamline workflow and assist with reporting metrics for the GL team while providing support to the Fleet Remediation Engineering team through preparation of ACS/MEP Lifecycle drawing sets. You will provide support for this content through our Global Library as well as preforming on-site validation as needed. You should have experience producing and maintaining permit, construction, and record drawing sets for large facilities (Data Centers, Factories, Hospitals, etc.).
Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for engineering, development, integration, and operation of these complex technological sites. You prioritize your activities to support data center maintenance and upgrades, solve problems and blockers, and focus on the actions that are most impactful for program success.

Key job responsibilities

CDM Smith's Environmental Services Group is seeking an Engineer, Scientist or Geologist with a.) experience modeling contaminant transport through sediment caps and/or b.) a working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) in remediation projects combined with basic geotechnical engineering experience (significant academic coursework may suffice) related to remediation projects located anywhere within the United States.
The candidate must have demonstrated expertise working independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team on remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and Public sector. Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for a higher grade level than what is proposed for this advertisement.
Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following regarding sediment remediation projects:
- Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of modeling contaminant fate and transport through sediment caps in subaqueous systems. Experience with CapSim is preferred.
- Experience using CAD to develop drawings for contaminated sediment dredging and/or soil excavation projects, including an ability to follow direction from a senior engineer with minimal continual oversight
- Experience performing slope stability modeling.

Assist with implementing and/or distributing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), management controls, templates, and Program guidance for the ARNG REPI program that: establishes financial controls and invoicing requirements for Program auditability; ; works collaboratively with personnel from ARNG training sites to facilitate parcel acquisition (easement or fee simple purchase) for the best-case tangible benefit(s) to the Army; ensures proper retention and storage of real property transactional documents; and reviews Partner, Installation, and Cooperative Agreements PM annual reporting format and metrics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical reviews and compilation of staffing packages of ARNG ACUB documents to include: Special Military Project Cooperative Agreements (10-year documents, annual Modifications); Supporting Documentation Binder for ACUB Cooperative Agreements (10-year document); REPI Proposals or Plan Updates (annual proposal and 5-year plans); OSD REPI Requests annually and Funding Requests and Reimbursements (Notice to Proceed/Request to Proceed/ SF-270s on a weekly basis).
Conduct presentations at ARNG and DoD-wide Conferences. Attend and present at the Army Guard Professional Education Center (PEC), North Little Rock, AR.
Coordinate REPI Working Group meetings (annually in person, monthly via Teams) and provide summaries/meeting minutes of items discussed.
Support and/or facilitate installation Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with: (1) verification of transactions accomplished since last review; (2) development of program progression according to the success metrics; (3) verification of partner contribution calculations; (4) presentation of ideas to financially sustain the program; and (5) prioritizing future actions. Organizes and schedules PMRs and other appropriate meetings for discussion of environmental issues. Establishes agenda topics, tracking resulting actions items and ensures complete staff coordination then develops the PMR report. Keeps Branch Chief and leadership abreast of issues and status.
Ensures the REPI Database is updated and accurate for ARNG training sites based upon the Annual Reports.
Ensures the ARNG PRIDE database reflects encumbrances as detailed in the Annual Reports.
Adjustments to this schedule may be required to accommodate support provided acris time zones.
Completes the General Counsel Staffing Notes for legal reviews of draft deed reviews and other documents.
Edit documents as requested by ARNG to facilitate finalizing documents.
Coordinate with outside stakeholders (may include other DoD components; Army
G9, federal, state, local agencies/governments; private citizens; non-profitconservation organizations, etc.) on actions involving ARNG installations.
Coordinate with internal NGB stakeholders, to include the 54 ARNG States, Territories, and District.
Provide monthly input on the REPI/ACUB News and Notes (these are the meeting minutes from the monthly teams working group sessions.
The position requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during normal business hours 0700 - 1830. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
United States citizen.

Oversee all environmental regulatory programs for the plants, including but not limited to: air, stormwater, wastewater, boilers, water usage, energy usage, waste hauler permits, hazardous materials, hazardous waste disposal and tracking, universal waste disposal and tracking, spill prevention, control, and countermeasures (SPCC), recycling, sustainability reporting, greenhouse gas tracking, and Tier II / Form R reporting.
Maintain a compliance calendar, and issue regular reports on the status of all environmental programs and permits.
Identify opportunities to (1) optimize energy and water usage and (2) minimize waste, in accordance with Hood sustainability priorities and targets, and manage all aspects of tracking and special projects to that end.
Update, maintain, and implement the provisions of the plant's Integrated Contingency Plan.
Work with and become a representative on the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) for site location county.
