We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environment Specialist to support our manufacturing operations in Rochester, NY as part of our WW Health, Safety and Environment Team.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1. Oversee health and safety programs including process safety management, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, laser safety, ionizing radiation, Control of Hazardous Energy (LO/TO), electrical safety, machine/web conveyance safeguarding, fall protection, confined space, & contractor safety reviews.
2. Oversee environmental compliance programs and reporting obligations required the U.S. EPA.
3. Participate in incident and near miss investigations, review and analyze data, identify trends and improvement opportunities to prevent/reduce incidents.
4. Participate in management of change reviews and job hazard analyses to identify/evaluate hazards and recommend controls.
5. Provide HSE training to employees.
6. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and prevailing professional standards and practices.
7. Provide HSE support for new product development/product change management.
8. Provide technical guidance to management on a large variety of workplace HSE issues.
Requirements:
• Knowledge of federal, state, local health, safety and environment requirements (OSHA, air, water, waste).

Job Description
The role of the Regional EHS Manager is to ensure the successful implementation and practice of our EHS processes and procedures to drive a culture of caring among team members, clients/customers and vendor partners. Work directly with site leadership and employees, office and field-based personnel to drive improved engagement in the assigned region. Lead the development and implementation of sustainable safety and environmental programs across the business. A major focus on the maintenance of safety management systems and the reduction in the frequency and severity of injuries to our people by partnering with functional leaders and staff to analyze problems and successes to optimize future operations.
This role will work with partners across the region to align program support to the overall business objectives and culture we need to enable all team members to work safely and protect the communities where we operate. Primary Responsibilities
· Drive the operational implementation of EHS programs through partnership to build a proactive culture of safety, compliance and performance.
· Collaborates across teams focused on both leading and lagging indicators to ensure proper safety defenses are being evaluated; key member of the incident investigation and improvement process.
· Partner with Lean Daily Management team to ensure safety measurements impact and reflect the Cox Automotive safety culture, while driving leading indicator safety programs that establish a restorative approach.
· Work to establish timelines and action closure process on all identified corrective actions that arising from inspections, reviews and recommendations. Ability to remove an audit atmosphere to a department support relationship.
· Support revised standardized environmental practices to ensure consistency with company standards and all provincial and federal regulations.
· Assist in the building of site safety and environmental policies and improvement plans that focus on continuous improvement.
· Works with auction site partners to help in the development and implementation of the training.
· Develop and implement of incident response plan, to include incident and near miss reporting process and to include review, analysis and communication of findings.
· Assist with the Learning Team approach to working directly with employees and understand how work is completed to better protect the workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field

The Vespel team is seeking an Environmental Specialist at the Circleville, Ohio facility - 30 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. This role will work with a diverse team to support the manufacturing of Vespel Polyimide Resins.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical expert on matters relating to air pollution control, water and waste infrastructure, associated regulatory compliance programs, and emissions.
Prepare permit applications including renewals and modifications.
Interpret local, state and federal environmental regulations then develop and implement environmental compliance programs, inspections, and guidance documents to ensure site compliance.
Verify accuracy of emission calculations and estimates for routine emissions as well as maintenance, startup and shutdown emissions.
Maintain and submit accurate compliance reports and records.
Develop and provide technical guidance and best practices to various departments regarding their responsibilities to the environmental program.
Monitor and report environmental compliance metrics on program effectiveness to site leadership team and associated teams
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations during the design and installation phase of facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Build effective relationships with regulatory bodies, laboratories, and service providers for regulatory compliance programs.
Host regulatory site visits and inspections.
Drive incident investigations to identify root cause and corrective/preventive actions
Conduct internal 1st Party Audits and Field Environmental Assessments to ensure compliance with DuPont Standards and Federal, State and Local regulations.
Develop and deliver professional meeting presentations to stakeholders including regulators and other officials.
Be a visual presence on the production floor and provide counsel, advice and support to other functions on all safety, health and environmental and security related matters.
Ensure compliance with company and site policies.
Supports the management of change (MOC) process as a change owner, subject matter specialist (safety) and change action owner.
Conduct facility training sessions as it relates to Air, Water and Waste regulations to ensure compliance and enhanced awareness.
Environmental Management Representative that ensures compliance/adherence to the corporate defined ISO14001 requirements.
Lead Sustainability programs and reporting.
Implementation of a detailed, task level, day-to-day, EH&S work process, standards, and procedures, and other job duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical degree from an accredited program, or equivalent work experience. Relevant coursework in environmental regulations, compliance, and sustainability is beneficial.
Minimum of 3 years applicable experience showing proficiency in permitting and compliance along with multimedia environmental compliance audits, and environmental management systems, (preferred experience working in the state of Ohio).
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Certifications related to Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001 lead auditor, RCRA, NPDES, etc.) are highly desirable.
Excellent technical writing abilities.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and regulators.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Routinely monitor the GC's EHS performance to ensure that the GC is in compliance with their stated practices and procedures, regulatory requirements and any additional owner expectations/deliverables that may have been identified in the contract of work EHS Schedule;
Interface and support the construction management team at site by delivering current data on GC EHS performance, including trending, incident management, EHS metrics and other key information that enable construction management to make informed timely decisions;
Participate in communication methods, such as safety meetings and notices to ensure relevant EHS information is communicated across the site by GC's and that Client management is included;
Ensure a daily walkabout/safety tour is conducted with the GC management, representative and the owner's representative (PM or delegate), as practicable. PM management (not delegate) should still target a weekly walkabout/inspection at a minimum;
Participate in a daily site tour with the GC safety rep;
Act as a coach and advisor to the safety committee;
Support the business in the conduct of risk and hazard assessments;
Participate in Significant Incident investigations and Significant Potential Event (SPE);
When a non-compliance by a GC or their subs is observed, immediately bring the issue to the attention of the GC, while also ensuring the owner's management rep/PM is informed;
Ensure KPIs, leading and lagging indicators and EHS data submitted by the GC is accurate, timely, and complete;
Conduct the monthly GC EHS evaluation;
Issue the weekly EHS summary;
Oversee execution of the Boots on the Ground program;
Participate in progress and schedule meetings where EHS is impacted;
Assist in design reviews throughout the Life Cycle; i.e. -- planning, design, permitting, construction, Cx, and handover to operations;
Support the development of the EHS Plan.
Identify and evaluate operational EHS risks, assessing the impact to the business; analyze risk scenarios to determine their potential impact to the business and design/lead programs to mitigate those risks.
Conduct assessments of existing EHS programs to ensure alignment with our regional strategy, including analyzing EHS business risks and identifying, describing, and estimating efficiencies to be gained through established programs.

Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and ensure all applicable employees have all appropriate training certifications and experience for their respective roles (field and office).
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled safety audits at all job sites; must have the ability to enforce safety program and report any safety violations.
Assist with daily safety checklists for tools, equipment, and other materials and fleet as needed.
Collaborate with the Project Manager and staff (field and office) to reduce the project's risk exposure to the greatest degree possible; ensure contract activities meet all health and safety performance criteria.
Handle incident reports and investigations and train staff on how to mitigate future occurrences; hazard recognition and mitigation across the board.
Promote a zero-accident environment for all company activities.
Assist with coordination of drug and alcohol testing as needed.
Ensure compliance with the Safety Program, OSHA, company operating policies and procedures, and provide for safe working environments for employees.
Monitor operational compliance with contracts, and Company established policies.
Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the executives with recommendation for resolution.
Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the company or as directed by executives.
Qualifications
5 years experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs.
Experience writing Health and Safety Plans (HASP's) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent and maintain competency through 24 hours of formal safety and health related coursework every four years.
In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, OSHA, federal, state, and city environmental and safety regulations and practices.
Ability to do public speaking, for safety training purposes.
Four-year college degree (or equivalent electrical construction-related work experience) preferred.
CHST, STS, OSHA 500 all are a plus. Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) with relevant construction safety experience.
Must have a valid driver's license, in good standing.

In this role, you will support site assessment and remediation projects, including soil and groundwater sampling, contaminated site investigations, vapor intrusion evaluations, data analysis, and report preparation. You'll collaborate with industry leaders on a diverse portfolio of complex environmental projects in a strong learning-focused environment.
General responsibilities:
Conduct field inspections, assessments, and environmental investigations.
Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
Perform air, soil, gas, and groundwater sampling, as well as remediation of contaminated properties.
Assist in planning and executing field investigations, including logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data. Carry out routine and special calculations as needed.
Provide field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with job specifications.
Identify and implement solutions to both routine and complex field or laboratory problems, and accurately document results. Communicate with supervisors regarding any issues encountered on project sites.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans, as well as data management, evaluation, environmental assessment, and remediation.
Perform additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology.
1-2 years of relevant work experience.
40 Hours OSHA HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
Prior professional work experience is preferred.
Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and eagerness to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment abilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation for access to remote job site locations.
